What kind of thumb safety is that? The thumb rest is really low. May be common but I've never noticed it on one before.




BTW: here is my first and favorite 1911.

Yup, it is lower than what's on my Kimber. It's been 20yrs since I got the Colt... but, I think it's a Wilson Combat piece of that era. If I remember correctly... when I bought it, it came with an ambi safety... and I think I changed it over to the one on there now.

She be fine... (that 1911 of yours) !!

Beautiful pics guys! Though I prefer other options in terms of duty weapons, the 1911 is quote possibly the best looking pistol on the market. Keep em coming!

She was my first gun and once I saw her that was it! I had tunnel vision and you couldn't have sold me on anything else! Since then I have bought other handguns, I have a shotgun, and just recently I bought my first rifle but nothing compares to how I feel when I shoot the Kimber!

Since day 1 I have had ZERO problems with the Kimber!

Springfield Mill spec, 650ish rounds through it, no issues.:cool:


I need to wear it in more, I like the way a nicely worn 1911 looks. They are like baseball hats, you need to break them in just right and then they are perfect.

1976 Colt MkIV Series 70 Government

I also have a Colt stainless Commander and a RIA compact. This one's my favorite, though.
