Bought a Norinco JW-15 yesterday as a rescue from a pawn shop. It took some work but I got it cleaned up and functioning properly.

So this morning I thought up a good reason to burn up some Remington Thunderbolts that none of my other guns like. I've got this stand of big weeds just outside of the dog pens (read snakes likely, do not tread here).

From my porch it's about 15 to 30 yards. The stalks are from 1/2" to 1 1/4" in diameter and hollow. So I started cutting them down with the Norinco. At first I thought that I was missing but on closer inspection the stalks had holes. I learned that I had to place between 2 and 4 shots side by side at the exact same height to cut one down.

Best day doing yard work in my entire life.

First my new beauty of a weed whacker

Now I've got no excuse for not cutting the weeds when the wife wants it done. Hey, I might even volunteer on a regular basis.

Nice job on the weeds and a great looking rifle. I've had this JW-15A for several years now that I picked up for next to nothing and have been amazed at the accuracy of the little critter. I'd like to take mine out for a little "yardwork", but I suspect that my neighbors would frown on that for some reason.

Thanks AZ, I can't believe the accuracy either. Nice looking JW you have there. Did you redo the stock in a natural finish or was it already that way?

PigButtons,
Thanks
As far as I know, that's the original finish. It had everything but the magazine with it and that's probably why the price was low. The mags seem difficult to come by.

Mine didn't have the original mag either, instead the owner gave me a 10 round CZ 452 magazine. Works OK but it's a little tight getting it out.

I have a JW15 that I bought new about 25 years ago and I like it a lot. It's sort of a clone of the CZ452 (mags will interchange).

Hmmmm. Maybe yard work can be fun! :D

Good job! I've got plenty of yard work for you to do at my house......

On a separate note, that looks like an accurate rifle. I like the stock!

Wow, SP if that is your rifle it looks like you take excellent care of it. Beautiful specimen. Thanks for sharing.

Fremmer,
Like Lee Travino said to a passerby when he was out working on his yard when she asked how much he charged to do yard work. He replied, "Well the lady that lives here sleeps with me." I DON'T WORK CHEAP.

Something tells me THIS would be a much more effective weed whacker
