I heard it AGAIN, and I still can't believe people still think this is true! I remember when the Glock first came out everyone was saying this who wasn't in the know. Even after many years of photos showing it was bunk people are still saying "you can get thru security with a Glock since they are invisible to Xray machines."

ARRRGGGGHHH!

I heard it this earlier this year by someone who owns several handguns, one of which is polymer-framed, though that was purchased after I mentioned it's a myth perpetrated in Die Hard.

Morons are everywhere.

I actually had a guy I know tell me that there are ceramic Glocks!!!!!!!

Die Hard 2 actually said it was a porcelain Glock 7 made in Germany!!!

He could not even get the retard BS right.

There is over 1/2 pound of metal in a glock. The rest is plastic, ugliness, and darkness.

You can find X-ray photos of Glocks around, but what do you do for a photo that proves they will set off a metal detector?

Pure BS regurgitated from Die Hard 2. I read that the film's armorer was face-palming as he heard the inaccurate line readings, and was rebuffed when trying to get the director to change the lines to something more accurate.
There are certain parts of a gun that at the moment HAVE to be metal for reasons of resilience, tensil strength, etc.
Barrel lining, slide, springs come to mind.

Not to mention the ammo itself....

If one were looking for free room & board for the next few years, he could always test the theory at any airport security checkpoint.

One can carry a Photograph of 'Glock', and that will not be detectable to normal kinds of security X-Ray or ditto Metal Detectors.

Lol...

The lord of war mention was supposed to be from the 80's I believe and the main character said he didn't suggest it.

I wonder how many people have actually tried it though..

Pure baloney, but there have been guns made that will not set off metal detectors. I won't say any more, except they cost the taxpayers of some countries a lot more than Glocks, and they are not for sale at your local gun shop.

I recall hearing a rumor that Glock added some barium to the polymer mix to make it more detectable on x-ray to quash the "x-ray proof" detractors.

Any truth to it or is it just some spin?

Yes, many people still believe the "invisible Glock" legend.

They hear it from the media, and when you try to set them straight, they don't believe you because you're a "gun nut" with "an agenda." :banghead:
