just bougt new rem .300 win mag rem at sportsmens wharehouse . trigger sometimes will let off at 3 .5 pounds ,using trigger gauge, but 95% of time lets off at 4 to 5 pounds ,adjusted scew till it almost falls out of gun will not let off below 4 pounds and it is not consistint . ( if scew it in pull gets harder)any ideas before sending it back to remington? p.s have 6 or 7 older rem made between 1999 and 2006 with older triggers always set them at 3 pounds but could get them down to 2 pounds if wanted to .there new trigger isnt no improvment to me.

yes posotive adjusted right screw , whent by the instruction book remington sent with rifle . this model pro trigger has the weight adjustment screw in trigger shoe ,do not have to take rifle apart to adjust it

I agree with Fireman, try cleaning and lubing it. I just installed one on an old ADL and it took a good cleaning and a few drops of remoil to get it working the way i wanted.....i also ground some of the screw off so i could get the pull where i wanted it with the screw still inside the adjustment hole.

I had the X-Mark Pro on my rifle too and experienced the same thing. very inconsistent. i tried cleaning and lubing, and that helped, but it still wasn't the same pull each time. I eventually replaced it with a Tinmey. My local smith said there wasn't much he could do. They're just not very good triggers.
