Hello,
I inherited a gun from my uncle that he may have cobbled together. The slide identifies it as a Colt m1991a1, however when taking apart for cleaning I was surprised to find 2 recoil springs. In my previous experience with 1911's I've only seen one spring. I have not found any exploded views with two springs.
Thoughts? I guess my main concern is: "is it dangerous?" I know he liked to tinker with things, and I could see him doing some modifications that might not exactly have been standard. Would a picture help?
Thank you.
