Update

Campus police informed me that I can have pepper spray and "small folding knives."

So I have some FOX pepper spray, a Surefire-type light, and now can somebody please recommend a good "small folding knife?"

Thanks for all the responses so far.

define "small". Do they mean under 5" or more like under 3"

If your allowed a 4" inch blade I would suggest a benchmade griptillian or a cold steel voyager or recon folder.

I would go with the little folding knife I received from the NRA recently when I became a member. It's a 2.5" blade, wouldn't look suspicious in any way (in my opinion at least), and, most importantly, it has a sharp point, unlike most Swiss Army pocket knives I've seen, which have a rather dull point.
Anything with a sharp, 'pointy' point would be good imo, no matter what the blade length.

I had a History teacher who carried a huge screwdriver in his suit's inner pocket. Just saying.

As for a knife, I carry a 3.5" SOG Flash II assisted-open knife and am very happy with the speed it can be deployed when in need.

I don't know if anybody has recomended it but, the Tornado Personal Defence Systemseems like a good idea. It combines pepper spray, a personal alarm, and a strobe light all in one belt clip holster.

It draws attention which may make the attacker flee. It also gives you a light that helps to see your attacker in low light situations. Then the pepper spray can buy you time to get a bit of distance.
