My sister goes to a private college in Florida and she is not allowed to have a gun on campus unless it is kept in the campus security office. Also she's not old enough for a CCW permit anyway.
I did a search on pepper spray here on THR and Fox Labs was one of the often recommended brands. They sell small pepper spray cans that double as a keychain: http://foxlabs.com/keys.htm
Do you think this would be a decent self defense tool for her? I think it's a pretty good idea, it's small and if it's attached to her keys she will most likely take it with her instead of leaving it in her room, and pepper spray seems to be effective most of the time in self defense situations from the research I've done on it. Obviously nothing works 100% of the time, and I'd rather get her a J frame .38, but unfortunately that isn't an option right now.
Also does anyone know the legalities concerning carrying pepper spray in Florida?
