First, the LMT is nice. For an AR/M4 of combat grade, it's a very nicely put together rifle.
From some of the consumer available M4gerys I've handled (after being issued a Colt M16A2 for some time), the LMT is right up there with Colt, IMO, my .02, YMMV and so forth. The LMT rear sight is extremely nice in quality and utility, and the M4 feedramps, gas key staking, BCG, SOPMOD stock, trigger and that barrel - if Noveske is better, it's got to be stellar.
And that raised the interesting point for me.
I now realize how exceedingly well put together and how amazing the fit and finish are on my Robinson Arms VEPR (one of the true ones, imported in very small quantities, not available ever again).
The VEPR is stunning, actually.
It took me the step of judging a very good LMT M4 & VEPR AK side by side to fully appreciate my VEPR for what it is; not just an amazing AK, but an amazing rifle, period.
