curious if any other sig owners have had any problems with 'dim' sites? i've had my P239 .40 S&W DAK for over a year and its never seemed that bright. can't find much info other than puchasing a new set
(#6 front & #8 rear).

two of the Original Equipment makers of P Series SiG lights has been Trijicon and Meprolight...both should be very bright...I have a pair of reportedly Champion made adjustable combat sights on my SiG STX that don't seem too bright but that is a more common complaint with them...yours are covered by the original warranty if they are dimmer than they should be...

There may be a date code on the sights. You may want to check that. Most of the new SIG's I bought that had night sights had one, and they were usually no more than a year old when new.

You said you had it about a year, did you buy it "new"?

What color are the dots? Green are the brightest, and stay that way the longest, 12 years or so. The other colors are shorter lived.

Another thing can be something as silly as residue from shooting/carrying the gun. Do you clean them off regularly?

thanx

thanx gents for chiming in! bought it new for a bedside/carry gun. just must be defective since it has been so hard to find any complaints about them. got so excited about researching a problem with this that i forgot checking the warranty!

Post a pic of the sights. You can often send them to the original maufacturer and they can replamp them for less than it will cost you to buy new sights. Sigs require a sight tool to replace the sights.

yeah iv'e dug around and the sight installer is different for front and rear. both over 125.00. but 110.00+/- to sig sending only the rail. i'm tryin to post pics.......

Pics from the side will give us a better look to help determine the manufacturer. I am going to guess because I see a Gray/Black Sig Box that these are trijicons.

The same tool should do both, you dont need two. If you have more than one SIG, its worth having.

The one from MGW should do "most" of the P series SIG's, with a couple of exceptions. It also looks very much like the factory SIG tool, and I suspect they make them for SIG.

My tool basically paid for itself when I sold the "old" night sights I removed from a couple of guns. I got $35-40 a set on EBay for them.

The tool can also be used for zeroing the sights.
