All Time Best: MP-40 Schmeisser, During last amnesty in 1070's, a friend told me his Barber has ben with Patton at the Bulge, he had a "German Burp Gun" he wanted to sell. I ran the old guy down, met him at his shop, he drug out a greasy paper grocery sack that had an MP-40 and two Magazines. There was light surface rust and the Bakeolite panels were perfect. I asked him what he wanted for it, he said $200. I hit him with it so fast... well, I had him hang onto it until I could process the paperwork... wish I still had it, that thing just refused to NOT fire anything that was thrown at it, split cases, pushbacks, inverted rounds.... ( I raided the coffee cans of range reload rejects) what a great gun..

There was a Ruger Mini 14 not long ago for $200.
A Browning Hi-Power with Artillery sights and Waffen Markings for $135.
A Mod 37 Smith J for $185..
An American 180 in the 70's for $275, that I later transferred for $3000
Just recently,
Two Model 96 Beretta's for $400,
Two Mini 14's in SS for $600,
Last one, a Benelli Nova for $100, never fired, and a FAL in 308 for $200, guy just out of work and I gave him what he asked for it, with option to get it back for the same amount...

I may be able to top all of these stories. Several years ago a friend gave me a real Colt SAA because he didn't want it lying around his house.

I found a Winchester Model 61A sitting in the woods once. Stuff I actually bought wasa $100 M59/66.

I bought my first pistol a few weeks back. Cop trade in 92FS centurion for $250 w/ 4 mags. I thought I did OK.

I don't know if it was the "deal of a lifetime" but definitely a good deal.
bought this Model 1917 Savage last week for $175

The all time best one was when I bought a box of Dan Wesson parts from the dying owner of a closing gun store years ago for $50. He just said, "Give me $50 for it, and it's yours!". I had the money out so fast I almost dropped my wallet. Inside was the parts to make a complete gun, which I did in Burger King's parking lot a few minutes after we left the store. There was a bunch of barrels and shrouds in there, along with a bunch of parts. I sold the parts gun to a friend, it shot great, and I sold off the barrels a few years ago, when I needed cash. I sure wish I had them back now.

My best deal for a "real" gun was in 2006, when I got my Dan Wesson 715 with custom sights(done at the factory, I've seen a few others out there) off AuctionArms for $269, near mint, barely fired, with 3 grips, the box, wrench, and a little bag of parts. I still have it. A similar auction went for over $500 recently.

My once in a lifetime deal(Im only 24 so let's say so far) is just recently found out that the truck I bought for $900 six months ago had a free Ruger Speed Six Liberty Model thrown in for free!!!!

i bought a older NDS AK-47, in so-so shape for 300 during the gun boom, so i threw it up online for 400 bucks to see if i could get any bites. Gentleman who collected AK's wanted it and offered me a nice SKS, a astra A-100, and a Sig P6. All in original shipping or gun boxes, straight across.

Sold the astra for 300, the Sig for 400, and the SKS traded for a nice 10/22 and ammo. So far the best deal i have ever got.

Unfortunately, I was the victim of a deal like that. My mother was caring for an elderly neighbor. Among the things given to my mom after the friend died was a S&W 28. Mom didn't like guns, and wasn't sure of the laws, so she gave it away to one of the other neighbors.

Today I was lucky enough to get rid of, I mean sell. a rust pitted .22 Charco at a show I was walking around at for the price of a brand new Hi Point. For some insane reason I had a dealer and an shopper bickering over it. Can someone explain why 2 people wanted that POS?

In about 1996, bought a S&W M19, 2.5" exc condition with slicked up trigger for $250. Price included 2 leather holsters, full box of SWC and 2 speed loaders. At the time, the gun by itself was going for around $400

Of course some of my best deals were selling guns...3 busted Jennings 22s and a couple busted US revolvers netted me $500.00 at a gun buy back...

T Series BHP , free as a finders fee for 3 rare S&W revolvers that I turned a buddy on to (the prices were low). I was ready to by one of them and handed it to him and "said you take it". When he told me that he was giving this BHP of his that I admired for so long I told him that it was not necessary but, he would not take no for an answer.

Not quite in the league as many here, but a few months ago I traded an old,re-finished S&W M&P .38 that I got at a gun show for $160........for a S&W Model 28 Highway Patrolman .357 w/ 4" barrel. The guy just wanted something with less bulk and weight, and I was happy to oblige.

A few years ago I got a three-screw Blackhawk from an employee for $150. He asked for $100, but I knew he needed the money and it was still a good deal, so I upped the price.

1947 Enfield No.5 Mk. 1 Jungle Carbine in a pawn shop for $150. All matching numbers, and it's a real No.5, not a clone.

I saw a HK Model 4 for sale, called and was told it was the gun and no conversion kit or anything else. had them hold it for me anyways. Got to the shop and they pulled it out, a NIB pistol in the box with the paperwork AND a complete NIB 3 barrel conversion kit with all the paperwork in it's box. Saw the boxes come over the counter and just said I'd take it. Figured paying $450 for it all was worth it. Been offered $1000 but passed.

NIB Ruger LCR for $371 out the door a couple weeks ago.

Found a '72 Colt Combat Commander at my LGS....picked it up for $450+tax
