Savage 99 club?

Here's a 99 built in the mid 50's in 300 Savage.

The first deer I killed was with a borrowed savage lever action chambered in 300 savage. I dont know the model number but it had a counter to tell you how many rounds were left in it.

That is a beautiful rifle! I'm really starting to favor these over my classic auto loader collection.

It's hard to describe exactly why I like the 99's. I've always liked the looks and then when I finally handled one I was hooked. The 99 is a true classic in it's own right.

The 99 Savage is classic and discontinued after about a Century of production. I have owned three and still have two, a 99A in .308 and (my pet) a 99A in 250/3000 Sav. They are, IMHO, the most attractive deer (forget lever) rifles built to handle smokeless cartridges. I don't know haw many deer have fallen to my .250 but the number has to be huge. I bought mine new some 30 years ago. Count me a diehard 99 fan.

I think that you should change the title of this thread. It should read, "Savage 99 Club" without the question mark. Remove all doubt.

Google Savage 99 . you will find collectors ,shooters ,and all sorts of people who love and are dedicated to the great "99".

Count me in - Savage 99E in 308. At the gunsmith getting a new butt pad (my bench sander went down ). Pictures when it gets back

This is my 40 year old 99-C in .308 - its a keeper!

I sent the rifle to MagnaPort in Michigan. Their unique porting process did not even mare the bluing at all. No more muzzle jump plus recoil is much lighter!

I'm on board. I'm still hunting whitetails with a 99 "Series A, Brush Gun", chambered in .358 Winchester I purchased new in 1977 for $191.00. Add $1,000.00 to that figure and it still wouldn't be for sale.

I really want one again. I had a sweet 99E in .308, but had to sell it off.

The 99 makes a number of interesting film appearances. Charles Bronson has it in "Death Hunt" and it appears in the classic "Dawn of the Dead" with the quote: "The only man that could miss with this gun is the sucker with the bread to buy it"

Top, a .308 with 6X Redfield. Bottom, .250/3000 with a 4X Leupold.

Top is an old perchbelly .303 Savage. It came out of a Big Sur ranch and has done its duty for almost 100 years, now retired
Next is a gorgeous 1957 99F in ,308 with a Lyman All American perma center 4x. It got me a few deer over the years and it is perfect an a reliable 2" gun. Bottom is a 95 Replica from the early 70s in .308 that I let my kid deer hunt with for a few years, back in the safe at 90%

Got a 1921 G, and a 1957 EG both in .300 savage. If I knew how to post pictures without using a link I would.

I have a 99f featherweight, bought from a friend of mine and his brother both in their mid 80's bought new in 57 when the 243 caliber was released, still have the original box with 6 rounds with it. Sears and robuck $4.15 they were college electronix whizz kids working on TV set for one of the big company's factorys in Mexico and would go out shooting Jack rabbits back then. She's like new

I've got 2 of these 99's, one is an E in .300 and another in 250-3000, not sure about model. The .300 was my Pop's, had it since 1947, and the .250 he got from a friend of his, I got both of them when Pop passed 4 years ago. Need to figure out how to post pics on here, but I want in the 99' club!

You have my two favorite calibers, the .250 AND the .300. You hit the jackpot. I think these two are possibly the two most famous cartridges chambered in the Savage 99 lineup. I wish I had one. I would have signed up for the 99 club a long time ago. It is definitely on my wish list.
