Who makes good 9mm Lead Bullet Ammunition?

And, who makes good 9mm Hollow-Nose Lead Bullet Ammunition, for that matter?

I never liked Hardball for anything, and, having finally put a Toe into the Water with 9mm, not yet re-Loading my own, all I can seem to find is Copper Patch/FMJ.
 
Missouri Bullet Company, or MBC, makes cast bullets for the 9mm. They're the only ones I've tried, so I have nothing to compare them to. If I don't find anything better/cheaper, I'd definitely buy more. The main reason I tried them is because PV sells them, they're cheap, they're in stock, and I already shop there.

I have never seen anyone selling a 9mm cast HP bullet, nor anyone selling loaded cast 9mm ammunition. If you're after loaded ammo, you might want to check the reloader outfits. Georgia Arms, etc.
 
I can't recommend anything, but AVOID Armscor 9mm LRN ammo. I had some and it caused incredible leading that took hours to get out.
 
I shoot Proofmark 125 grain lead roundnose in my WWII vintage P-38. It seems to like them, shoot them well and I haven't noticed leading.
 
Try Mastercast in Enon Valley, PA...

A box-50 with your brass is $8.24 and without brass is $11.00 . These are cast lead bullets.
 
50 for $11 is pretty darn high....I've bought 500 proofmark 125 grains for $39.

Even $8.24 is high. That would be $82 for 500.

I think post #5 was referring to loaded rounds, not just lead bullets.
 
+1 for Missouri Bullet Co. Excellent products, and wonderful service. Prices are reasonable, too. That's enough for me.

I was answering his "question" concerning LOADED ammunition...

That price is not high at all. If you buy a case it is even cheaper than that.
 
How fast are you driving them? Unless they are pretty hard, wont they give you leading trouble at realistic 9mm velocities?

I use jacketed for my 9mm reloads. I load them hot anyway, and I dont need the leading issues. If you get them from Precision Delta, they are about as cheap or even cheaper than lead anyway. About $75/1000 delivered.

Georgia Arms makes 9mm lead bullet ammunition...

it is 147 gr round nose and it is fairly hot stuff too with hard cast bullets.It is much higher in price than mastercast . I use Mastercast as it is good for all around shooting and the cheapest I can find.
 
I wonder why 9mm Hollowpoint Lead Bullet Ammunition appears to be so unknown?

Seemed popular for .38 Special, .357 Magnum, and, even the odd vintage box of .38 Automatic or .38 Super.


Shaped correctly, it would feed without issue.


How sad that for over a hundred years, all the 9mm was either Hardball, or, some occasional RNL from aftermarket reloaders.


I guess I will just be patient, and, wait till I can be re-loading, and see how the 9MM Pistols I have get along with various Bullets.


Some 9mms may even feed a semi-wadcutter hollow point for all I know.

My Colt .38 Automatic feeds them just fine, so...Hmmmmmmmm...

using wheelweights and range brass I am below $40 per 1000 loaded rounds.
