Fiocchi 9mm Ammo

Cheaper Than Dirt has this Fiocchi 9mm ammo for sale, was wondering if anyone has any experience with it? I have not used much Fiocchi previously, but what I did use seemed to be okay.

"This is 9mm Fiocchi ammunition, 147grain, jacket hollow point with special design to feed well in automatics. Box of 50 rounds, brass case, boxer primed, current production, police department over run. Special anti-friction coating with Teflon base to reduce lead exposure. The primer is sealed, the bullet is coated copper and sealed so it is "zero pollution" or does not leave a lead residue and hazard. This expensive ammo is being sold way below distributor cost, limited suppliers, designed for law enforcement. We are selling a 50 round box, a case would be 1,000 rounds or 20 boxes. Non-returnable item, we will not accept any returns on this."

I've shot some Fiocchi 9mm, but more .38 and .357.

Generally good ammo.

Fiocchi in 115 gr FMJ has been worked fine in a variety of firearms, brass worked fine for reloads.

Fiocchi makes some good ammo, but I've not shot much of their 9mm FMJ.
I've shot the 115jhp, and 145fmj in 9mm, 145hp and 180fmj in .40, 60hp and 73fmj in .32acp (lots of that 60hp!), and some .38lrn, and some 240jph in .44mag

My overall inpression is that it is loaded to hot end of factory loadings, especially the european mfg. .32acp. The 60gr hp chronographed 1,050fps from 2.125" Beretta TomCat, much hotter than US mfg. ammo.

Accuracy is overall disappointing, except the .44mag. I shot it through a fellas Mod29 S&W he was having trouble sighting in scope on. After I got it on paper at 25yds, I shot a 1.5" five shot group at 100yds with it- I was very pleased/suprised. He shot three times, he couldn't hit 2'x3' poster board even after sight-in. Saw gun and remainder of his ammo at gun shop for sale two weeks later.
I seem to remember it chron'o @ 1400fps from 83/8" bbl S&W.

Prices are quite good though.

Fiocchi is great stuff. Loaded hotter, probably to NATO standards.

Prefer it to comparably priced S&B ammo. Also shoots cleaner.

Had good experiences with Fiocchi in 9mm, .45ACP and 12ga 00.

Fiocci ammo is great.

I haven't tried the 147 grain stuff, but have shot a lot of their 115 gr 9mm. They used to import a "Truncated Cone: Combat" round that was noticably hotter than their standard.

Fiocchi makes a hotter round. It is in my experience good. I have never had a problem with it. I still have about 1100 rounds to shoot up. Go for it!

Go to the spec sheets for comparison of ammo specs.
S&B 115grain whistles in at 1280ft/sec and 423ft/lbs of energy, measured at the muzzle. Hotter than UMC, American Eagle and Winchester USA. I don't have the data for Fiochi, but doubt if it is significantly "hotter" than S&B (which, by the way, has greater muzzle energy than .45acp 230grain UMCs, American Eagles, Winchester USAs and even their own .45s).

I did buy 100 rounds (I am a sucker for special deals). The box says 123 grs, not 147. The bullet has a dark gray/black color and feels slick to the touch. I'll see if I can try some in my Glock and Browning HP by the weekend and give you a report on it's accuracy.

Fiocci makes good stuff, its clean and accurate. Sound similar in description (ie LE overruns, specially designed bullet, etc) to the Hirtenberger marketed a few years back...

Hello. I've generally fired Fiocchi 9mm in the 115 gr wt and have been very satisfied with its accuracy and quality.

This fifteen yard group fired with a Pre-B CZ-75 using the standard, factory bbl.

Does quite well in the older Browning HP using a Barsto bbl, too.

While it grouped very well from an FN Competition HP, it didn't produce the tightest group, but a tight one just the same.

Fired 200 rounds of 115 & 147 gr Fiocchi HP's thru my USP.

Not one failure.

Load a cocktail of alternating FMJ, 147 HP then 115 HP on top, as my carry load.

I have used some Fiocchi 9mm and 12 ga. dove loads. Both were fine. The 9mm did seem a little hot, like maybe +P. The brass is fully reloadable.

I've got a box of the FMJ Truncated Cone: Combat 9mm. Man, they look pretty wicked for a FMJ. Fed fine in the Glock 19. Accuarcy was better than the Win White Box.

I want more, but they were pricey, ~$10/50

I like this mfg too and agree that it is some of the cleanest shooting stuff I've run across. In my experience, it has been hotter than other brands in every caliber I've tried(9mm, .45ACP, .38 Spec., .357 Mag.).

I like the truncated-cone 9mm as well.

Fiocchi 9mm is clean, accurate and hot.

100% reliability in the G17.

I'll pick up a case when it's on sale.

The only info I have on Fiocchi 9mm says that its 115gr loading clocks about 1208 fps from a Beretta 92.

This is my 50' target fired with my G19. The two 8-ring hits are from my first string of five shots. After that I settled down quite a bit. This was not fireed from a cold barrel; I first shot 10 shots at 21'. Pretty good accuracy for a combat load. Oh, it did feel a bit stronger than normal 9mm rounds. But not enough to be a problem.
