i carry a S&W 9mm model 3913 and like it,but there are times i would like some thing a little smaller to carry(hot summer days) and after reading about the new kimber solo i thought i may get one. eastbank.

Good luck....we have 29 on backorder and have received only three, the "display" model and two others. And we are listed as Master Dealers.

after reading paragrouers post and refered link,i will not be buyimg a kimber solo.so if kimber thinks people will not take notice to the customer service complaints they are dead wrong. eastbank.

They are having a problem with the mag release and suspending shipping until the get the new parts
Reading the range reports, there is a lot more at issue than the mag release.
I hope they sort out the problems, it looks like a great gun.
They are doing the right thing by suspending production until they sort it out.

Bad PR to shove a product out the door, and then have them all come back from angry and vocal customers.

should i get a new kimber solo 9mm?
Yes. Next year.

I own several kimber 1911's. They are excellent guns. That being said, why buy an unproven design? I never understood why people are in such a hurry to buy the latest and greatest before the bugs are even worked out. There are plenty of proven options out there in compact 9's. No need to mess with a new product that wasn't really needed.

In my opinion you should let others be the guinea pigs. Buying a new design from a company with suspect customer service is just begging for trouble.

Mag Release?

9mmepiphany said they were having problems with the mag release. This is a new one to me. I am getting the same story on the slide release. However when talking to Kimber they say all is well, they are running as usual and just cannot keep up to demand. I am going to wait for the Solo CDP model http://www.kimber1911pistols.com/blog/kimber-solo-cdp/

Couldn't have said it better myself. I never have wanted to be one of the first to buy ANY gun.
