Does FN SLP have Browning Speed Loading, or not?

"This shotgun has also the exclusive speed loading feature made popular by John M. Browning's famous Auto-5." This sentence appears on FN's web site. It has been copied verbatim onto numerous vendor sites: http://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C...US400&prmd=ivnso&filter=0&fp=2915f1c5b5195705

But when I consult various reviews of the SLP, and Youtube demonstrations, the speed loading feature is nowhere in evidence. One finds people online asking whether the speed loading system can be added to the SLP, using the Browning Gold's parts.

I find this confusing. Can someone explain what is going on?

The alleged presence of the speed loading gizmos is what got me interested in the SLP in the first place. I like this feature and am used to it, from running a couple of Brownings that have it. It's really brilliant that you don't have to do anything differently, whether you are loading from empty or topping off a partially depleted magazine.

So, for those who have hands-on knowledge of the SLP, are the speed loading doohickeys in there or not?

Thanks. I'm baffled.

Edit: P.S. Here is a video showing Browning speed loading, in case there is confusion over the term: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ioSF3B4Y0UM . My question in essence is, will the SLP do that?

They cannot be converted, at least easily, I have actually never had a SLP in front of me, but have several SX2's, Silver's, Gold's, and 3 Maxus' and the difference in the breech bolt is apparent, the magazine shell stop is contained within the bolt itself on the Gold's, haven't paid attention on the Maxus. The shell stop on the SX2 and Silver is located in the receiver which the SLP is based upon

Thanks, guys. What I am hearing here and elsewhere seems to boil down to this: Inexplicably, BSL is in many advertisements for the gun, but it is not in the gun. However that might have happened, FN Brownchester ought to do something about those ads.

I'm sure the SLP is a superb shotgun in any case. The reason I raised the question is I operate a shotgun on the shoot one, load one plan. A gun without BSL gives me one more thing to think about: Did I shoot it until empty? It's a conditional branch in what I need to do.

It's no big deal, I suppose. Most guns lack this feature and nobody seems to miss it. Otherwise the market would clamor for it and every make would have it. (I'm sure any patents are long since expired.)

Edit: I sent FN an email heads up that some Internet advertisements are out of synch with the product.

^^^ Any further updates on your SLP adventures?

The ads caught my eye because my favorite shotgun is a fifties Auto 5 with speed loading and my light upland gun is a Twelvette. I'm habituated to the speed load thing.

Looks like everyone is out of step but me!
