M&P Love Them

What makes them so good to you? I've read that they have a HEAVY trigger...

No, the trigger isn't bad at all.

the only possible complaint that I would have with the trigger is the reset. It is is not as positive, short or as noticeable as say a glock. However the press is smooth and nice imho. I am used to an XD trigger, so the M&P not having a glock style reset is not an issue, as the XD doesn't either.

I went out specifically to buy an M&P Pro in 9mm because the triggers were supposed to better. I dry fired it in the store and didn't care for the trigger at all. So I passed on it. I'm not knocking the M&P. It just wasn't right for me.

M&Ps are very good polymer framed internal striker fired semi-auto pistols, but I also like my Glocks, Walthers and XDs as well when it comes to these types of guns. I have both a M&P9 Pro and a M&P40c. S&W has a winner for sure in their M&P line-up (Their M&P AR15s are pretty good as well). ...I just can't stand their revolvers though, bad quality..... I kid, I kid.

I hear bad things about the triggers all the time. They are fine to me, I have four M&P's and one thing the triggers are not is heavy. Lighter than Glocks with 3.5 connectors. Lack of defined reset seems to be the #1 complaint but the reset is nice and short. You just have to get some time on them and get some rounds down range.

I love my M&P .40, smooth trigger and 100% reliable for me so far. Much better ergos than the Glocks, for me anyway.

I have the M&P .45 full size and the M&P R8 .357 and I love them both! If there is a down-side to anything it is the slide release on the .45 is extremely difficult to release with a single finger...it takes two fingers to release. The revolver is my sweet gun...I love the trigger and the feel of it in my hand. The same goes for the semi-auto. I love the easily changed grips (large for myself and switched over to medium or small for my wife or sons) in about 7 seconds.

I love my M&P's. .40 cal full size & 9mm compact. I think the triggers are perfect.

More and more shooters are using the M&P pistols in IDPA and USPSA. I cannot see me getting one anytime soon, not because any misgivings about the pistol. It would just be a redundant tool for a job that has already been filled by a G34 Glock.

That is one of the advantages of being a free citizen living in a free country. You may choose the handgun you want. If you like M&P, be it.
