Got a Glock 19. Love it. Carries well, shoots like a dream...the list goes on and on. However, I have a big hand and bottom line the finger grips don't line up with my fingers and they are not very comfortable. I would have prefered a Gen2 style front strap. Has anybody every filed off the finger grips? Now I am not talking about a radical change here. I would just knock a couple of milimeters on the top of the finger grove ridges.

Anybody done this type of mod? Got a picture? Got another idea?

Thanks.

I just got my Gen 3 Glock 19 back from www.coldborecustom.com. I chose to leave the finger humps on for the time being, but I'm considering removing them. Check out some of the work on there. There are some great examples of Gen 3s without finger humps. One thing I did get done that helps tremendously with the ergonomics is undercutting the trigger guard slightly so my fingers aren't bunched up against it. Another thing to consider.

Sent my gen 3 g19 to cold bore custom about a year or two ago. I got the grip reduction, finger humps removed, and the carry texture all around.
He does excellent work, and what a world of difference my g19 feels to me. I absolutely love it.
The one other thing I wish I got done was the trigger guard under cut that KevinB refers to. I will send it back to him someday for that.

I couldn't recommend close bore customs enough!!!!! Absolutely love how my G19 turn out.

Just go sand them off yourself, start with some 100 grit then finish with some 200 or so. Don't worry it won't make your Glock any uglier and it will make it fit your hand better. I could post a pic of the job I did to my 19 but it would be kind of pointless, it looks like a Glock 19 with the finger grooves sanded off. Use you imagination.

Sent my G36 to Robar years ago and had the groovers removed. The gun feels great and I will probably do the same thing to my G19.

I have the same problem with mine G19 and G23. I don't know who they made those grips for but they aren't for me... I work around them but would like them gone...

I have ordered a "Tactical Grip Glove" from Pachmayr. They fill in the gaps between the finger grips and let the high points protrude, effectively (I expect) minmizing the issue. I too was a little leary of modifying a gun like that and may never have gone that far but with this Pachmayr thing, I may well have it. $13 well spent I hope.

Took a dremel to the finger grooves as they did not match my hand. Smoothed it out with sandpaper, love it. I knew that if I sold the gun the custom work would hurt it but when you like and trust a weapon why worry. I did it to a 19 and a 21. It is easy and for me made the gun feel better.
