The High standard pictured is even nicer than my Model 12 Riot.
The feedability of the magazine is a definate plus compared to the Model 12.
The Model 12, however, does win hands down in looks category.
Can't say much about them - I wasn't born yet in the 70's (though I didn't miss them by much ). I do have a few guns made during that era that I enjoy though.
I like disco and I was already grown by then. Also, you did not die from taking a babe home for the night then either. A little shot of penicillin did the trick....chris3
Watergate, Best-Picture Oscar Rocky , the Bi-Centennial--What a decade! My first introduction to firearms occurred in 72 when my Dad let me fire his service S&W .38 and a Marlin .22 rifle--you never forget your first time (no pun intended).
In the 70's I bought a Ruger Single Six for $95.00 Find one for that price today, and that was new. I bought a Remington 700 BDL and 6X Leupold Scope for $185.00 new. Copenhagen snuff was $.25 all day long.
The 70's weren't so bad after the turbulant 60's.
I had this mint 10-5 that was perfect in every way. It was a beautiful gun and I had the original box, papers, and cleaning tools. No scratches, no wear, nothing. I never ever should have sold it.

To each his own
But I have no mint or even minty guns.
I by them used and I use them some more.
If I really like 'em I keep 'em.
Otherwise I sell 'em and hopefully buy some more.
