How many rounds have you put through your CCW?

Thousands and thousands across all four carry guns. Sum total is probably 20,000ish, but this crop of four is kinda new. I've attended 7 or 8 gun courses with this bunch.

G19 thousands
S&W 642 2-3K
LCP 5-700
Detonics 1911 3-500 (haven't had this one very long, it just graduated to the "proven" list)

How many rounds have you put through your CCW?

In just the past couple of years, about 18,200. That was from shooting about 200rds/wk one year, and about 150rds/wk the next. Not one malfunction in the batch.

But I've also had this gun about fourteen years, and I've shot it more than that some years, and much less during others. During all this time I've had one malfunction that wasn't the result of a parts breakage, and that was a failure to eject.

So, total rounds? A low-figure guess would be around 32,600. A better one would probably be 40,000.

My LCP has less than 200 rounds through it simply because the ammo is insanely expensive.
My M&P is pretty new and I've not gotten much of a chance to take it out yet - only had 50 rounds through it :(.

I have approximately 86,000 rounds through my Wilson Combat CQB. I am on the 3rd barrel. It currently isn't my carry gun because the ejector broke and I will be sending it back to Wilson Combat for repair. It was still firing fine when I finished up my last session with it that was about 200 rounds. It wasn't until I cleaned it after shooting that I realized that the rear of the ejector had broken off. Wondering if maybe it happened on the last round, I ran two more mags through it and it worked flawlessly. Given that I figure the whole ejector probably needs to be in place for defensive reliability, I am not currently carrying it and instead carry another CQB.

Only 100 rounds.

Bought it yesterday, all 100 rounds flawlessly.
I have 1k rounds on the big brown truck headed my way from sportsman's guide.

First to answer your question, 800 and counting.

Second, with current stats, I have read put Police accuracy during encounters where they fire their guns on duty at 15-20%. These are folks who shoot frequently and have to realistically qualify with their firearms.

If you are not firing your weapon at least as much as them how can you hope for better than that percentage? Also, if you have a firearm that can not be fired that much without worrying about it breaking, you need another firearm. Or should I say, now you have a good excuse to buy another firearm.

Somewhere north of 750 rounds and counting -- clearly enough to know that the gun works perfectly well all the time. I've never had so much as the slightest of hiccups from it despite using a wide variety of ammunition from a wide variety of makers and taking it to the range in all sorts of weather conditions: sun to rain to snow.

Over 10k, I dont bother keeping track after that. I put 5k through it before I ever cleaned it, that was before it had carry duty though. Never failed.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of pistol is it that you didn't clean it for over 5K rounds?

probably a glock. I went 2500 one time, shooting all jacketed and plated. The trigger pull almost doubled, but it still went bang.
Sorry man, it was the Kimber on the bottom...

Was a lot better looking when I got it. And after I finally cleaned it, it looked new (I had to sandblast it). My typical shoot/oil/repeat has made it ugly again.

my primary ccw, has over 17,000rds through it. i look it at like this, train with what you are gonna carry and fight with. it has a few training courses under it belt too. it is a sa xd service model.

As for how many rounds of the SD ammo I carry...I admit I have NEVER shot the ammo I carry through my gun yet...But it is getting close to that year mark, so I get to shoot it soon...Thanks for the feedback guys.

This makes little to no sense to me.

First of all, I would NEVER carry a gun and ammunition combination that I hadn't tested. Any time I make a change to my carry gun or ammo, I shoot at least 200 rounds of the carry ammo I will use in that gun to make sure that it functions flawlessly.

What kind of carry gun are you using? How do you know it will cycle hollow points, or whatever your SD ammo is if you've never used it.

How many rounds have you put through your primary CCW total? I ask because I just ordered 500 rounds of 9mm from sportsmansguide...I only have about 650 rounds through the gun so far and I'm wondering if it is a good or bad idea to shoot my CCW too much...I am worried about wear on the barrel and moving parts...The rounds are Pakistani 1970s-production, Brass-cased and Berdan-primed...if these really were produced in the 1970's, is there anything i have to worry about?
You probably need to put a minimum of 100 rounds a month through your CCW, just to stay proficient with it, even if you shoot other handguns. If you are a new shooter, you need to go through several thousand rounds just to become proficient.

I don't carry any kinda ammo that i haven't tested in my carry gun for reliabilty and shootability first. and i wouldn't recommend that anyone carry ammo that they haven't tested.

My CCW while working has 5000+ rounds downrange. (S&W M&P .40)
My CCW while not working has 10000+ rounds downrange. (S&W SW9VE)

I shoot a couple times a month and qualify quarterly.
