I bought a set of VZ ETC grips for my Ed Brown Special Forces Carry a couple of months ago and couldn't be happier with them. The texture really provides a good grip which helps control recoil and they look great too. I'm not a fan of wood grips or slim grips so ended up replacing the grips on all of my 1911s with standard thickness VZ ETC and Double Diamond grips. My only complaint about VZ is the lack of color choices. I really like the "dirty olive" and can tolerate the "black desert sand" but no other color appeals to me. The grips shown on the Dan Wessons are similar in color to the VZ Slim Line grips that come from the factory. The VZ grips look good on my Kimber too and provide more control compared to the Cylinder & Slide 320 grips I was using.
When ordering grips, it's not always easy to determine how they'll look on your 1911 due to the lack of photos available. Maybe these photos will help someone who's wondering if VZ grips are for them ... in these colors of course.
