Hello, THR members. I bought a 1943 Mosin over the summer, and decided to trick it out in "com bloc sniper" fashion. I made a bent bolt for it, and attached a scope mount for a PSO-1 I ordered from Belarus. I topped it off with a Romanian LPS TIP2 scope that many of you may recognize from Romanian PSL rifles. I removed the upper handguard, modified/polished the trigger, free floated the barrel and brass-shimmed the receiver (soon to be tested against the oiled felt trick). The thing shoots decently, grouping two inches or under with Russian surplus, probably much better with handloads. However, I want to squeeze a little extra out of it.

So, here's my problem. The crown isn't so hot. The bore is nice and sharp all the way to the end, but the crown is ugly and a little egged out, I guess from cleaning rods over the years. How would I go about recrowning it at home, without spending much money (or any money, if I can help it)?

Here's some photos of it, for those interested.

Thats exactly what i want to do to a m44 carbine. but all the crown needs is a little touch up with some bluing and a little cleaning but if the bore is ruined at the end i think thiers a website with instructions on how to make a internal crown.
