opened a brand new box of 45 grain HPs the other day, i took out 5 and began loading my mag when i realized some thing was not right with this one:eek::eek:

so the question is what do i do now, how dangerous is this thing??

Do you have a bullet puller? If so pull the bullet, dump the powder and throw it away...don't shoot it, that's for sure. You could probably pull the bullet with a couple of pairs of pliers too...obviously the bullet will be ruined.

You could complain to the manf., if you really wanted to. I would do what HOOfan_1 said. Pull it and toss it, then get to shooting.

lol i was NOT planing on shooting it, doubt it would go off any way with the humidity we have had and that crack in the side, its interesting though looks like he neck was welded back together by the bullet seating or some part of the the forming opp

Sometimes squeaky wheels do get the grease. I've read of folks complaining and in turn receiving a free box, but often they are required to send in the faulty ammunition. Obviously if you had to do that on your own dime, the compensation isn't so "free" anymore.

Regardless, it's a good thing you caught that. That's nothing I'd want to shoulder and fire, that much is certain.
