Hello Revolver Fans,

I have an old, stiff, Ruger Security Six (like the one below only with a 4" barrell). I'd like to salvage it and turn it into something pleasant to shoot. Have any of you had Gemini Customs work on your SS? I have handled GP100s and SP101s with nice triggers, but that old SS is so stiff and clunky, I'm afraid it is beyond hope. Suggestions?

It's not beyond hope.

I've not had any done by Gemini, but I've read nothing but good things.

Me, I'd start with a $10 spring kit and go from there.

Ayup, I had the same thought, so I tried a Wolff Gun Springs kit. I had my local gunsmith swap out the springs (there is only one choice for the main and trigger return springs). Almost no improvement. Yes, once you get the trigger to finally budge, it is a little lighter, but basically working the trigger is still like lifting a brick.

I've had Gemini work on an SP101 with one of the worst trigger pulls I've ever felt in a revolver. It's now very good (they also took the edges off the trigger face, which made a difference).

They can definitely fix your SS.

Sounds like there's something wrong with your gun.

I do not know enough about the internals of a ruger to guess what is binding but I would drop the action out the bottom and take a look.
