What calibers have you taken deer with?

Many.. Primarily my beloved 25-06 and 300 win mag

I live in Indiana so we are limited to shotgun, ml, or a centerfire of a max 1.8 case length and a min. of 35 cal.That being said I have taken many deer with a 12 guage using lightfield slugs and 285 grain barnes spitfire ml. bullets with a knight longrange hunter.

I always got a kick out of the ranger sitting on the tongue of our trailer---( 5:30 am--30 deg ) I said" come in you can hear better" I asked him why you guys give me a hard time for using a 222----he said because you once -a-year guys are not capable of properly shooting a deer with a 222.
I said" what do you guys use for winter kill---he said " we buy 30,000 rds of 222--he said " best kill for the money at close range"
