I bought a used WOA A4 upper with carry handle (and pinned sights) off a gentleman from the US Rifle Teams highpower forum.

It looks to be in very good shape, as I expected it to be. The gentleman earned his Distinguished badge with it.

God willing, I'll meet some of you folks at Perry one of these years - if Feinstein can't nuke it, which I'm sure she would love to do.

Nice score. I'm keeping an eye out for a good SR upper myself, and WOA/WOP tops the list. Congrats.

Nice find, honestly cannot believe he let it go.

My "I'll take it" was either the day before, or the morning of the massacre of those poor kids. He honored the price he had it listed at.

Hey Tim, How many vmax do you want to trade?

Man... You got a million or so?:D

White Oak makes great stuff so I hope it works out for you. I just requested the vacation days in hopes of going to Perry this year. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

I'm glad you were able to get yourself one.

One of these years?

Look, don't make the mistake of waiting until you "get really good" before you make your first trip to Camp Perry.

If you can afford the trip, make this year your first. Just go do it. Far too many people wait, and they all said they should not have. Just go, you'll find out why when you get there.

@BulfrogKen - Nope, has to do with finances, not wanting to "be really good". I'll be there as soon as I can responsibly afford to.

Maybe I need to look into selling plasma...:neener:

Well your student handle suggested it.

Many state and local clubs find a way to finance their youth to make trips to Perry at no cost to them.

Where will you be/are you shooting High Power matches?

And I'll anticipate your next question by stating that if you get involved with the sport, you will meet some of the best people in the shooting sports. And I mean the best. I've been fortunate in my life to be in a position that allows me to interact with all of the popular shooting sports, and I'll tell you I haven't met a better community of people than High Power shooters.

I go out and shoot High Power matches for the relationships I formed with the shooters more than the enjoyment I get from the match itself.

If you want to go out to Perry, I bet you'll find someone willing to help you carpool from Iowa to get there. And if you stay in the squad bays like I do, $11.00 a night is a damned steal.

I've heard that WWP will be providing a trip this year- I'll be looking for it, but we shall see if that comes to fruition. I know M1s for Vets does, but I'm not a part of that organization. I have a buddy that is, and he speaks very highly of them.

I'll be shooting matches within a couple hours drive of me. There are none particularly close to me.

I agree that shooters are some of the greatest people you could hope to meet. That has been my experience at the IDPA matches I've shot in. Just really nice folks.

Thanks for the tips.

I've shot many IDPA matches and count those shooters among my personal friends. I have shared Christmas with them, went to their funerals, and do things close friends do.

I've never seen the outpouring of community spirit I've seen among the High Power community in any other sport. I've both witnessed and experienced, "Here, use this <$2,000 worth of gear> until you know you like the sport first, and can afford to buy it yourself later. Go use it this season and have fun.

I've not seen offers like that extended in any other sport, period. And I've been involved with most of them all with the exception of maybe the hard-core trap crowd.

I am trying to put together my first trip to Perry this year. I wanted to go last year but my sons college move in date coinsided with it. Being his first year going I had no choice. Hope to meet some of you guys there. Though I will be there for NRA week. I just started with highpower in July of 2011 but I'm having a great time.

You know that by reading all of your posts you make me feel guilty!

I have been shooting at Camp Perry since 1989 and I love it!

The guilty part is that I live 35 minutes from it.....:neener:

Nothing better than just jumping in the truck and seeing what they have at the North Store or going to some of the matches that are put on thru out the year.

Hope to see and meet some of you out there!
