This thing will actually shoot. If I did my part with the open sights I could easily hold a 2 inch group at 100 yards. Some groups were nice 1 inch groups then the occasional flyer would open it up. It did like the 165 and 168 grain loads better
I ran low on new ammo so I grabbed the ammo for my Howa which is only partially sized and it feed and fired with no problem.
Yes it did ding brass but not too bad.
While I was checking out the merchandise that the range does have I spotted a scope mount for it marked down to 30 bucks. I grabbed it and I will be putting my cheap 20 dollar Barska red dot on it. If it work I may pick up a better quality one.
Recoil was not bad at all. Trigger could be better but it is livable may upgrade later. I plan on loading for it and since it will feed the ammo sized for the Howa even better if I get in a pinch.
For now it will stay stock.

Thank you for the report! I've been looking into either building a .308 style AR or getting a Saiga .308, always good to see user reports. Glad you like the gun.

I have a saiga .308 21'' barrel did a ton of up grades did the conversion moved the trigger forward hoge grip collapsible stock over the cover scope mount with a simmions white tail scope valmet port buffer (no dented brass) bi-pod and so on, At 260yds we shoot clays with out a miss 150gr reloads.
In my option the saiga is really under rated. also have a 223 shoots just as well.

the Saiga is really under rated

Interesting you say that. I've always assumed they got the acclaim they deserve... rarely have I heard anything negative about them. I was about ready to get a 16" 308 when their prices jumped a bit.

The 16's shoot, but your fortunate to have a 21 that shoots that good.

Quick update I sorted my brass and checked the dings on the brass. The worst dings were found on the Winchester brand 7.62 NATO ammo Followed by the Hornady 308 Win Match loads. The least dented was the reloads with 150gr Winchester Bulk bullets and H335
