No Guns for Jews

A gent on another forum has this for his sig line:

I once saw a movie where only the police and the military had guns.
It was called Schindler's List

I am Jewish and all my relatives in Belarus where not allowed to own guns by orders of Czar and were systematically exterminated by the Nazi army when they invaded Belarus in 1941. My aunts, uncles, cousins were all forced to dig their own graves before they were all shot to death, some holding their crying babies in their arms. They were later buried by the nazi soldiers who massacred them.

There is a monument in the village of Belarus where my relatives lived, which contains the names of all the people in the village who were murdered there.

The history of my family is living proof of why people need to own guns and how truly evil is gun control.

There was about 2,000 people in my grandmother's village in Belarus. All these people were massacred, women, children and all. That is about 100 times as many people murdered in one or two days as the Sandy Hook massacre.

Well, obviously thats because your relatives failed to implement NY gov Cuomos logic,

"Common sense can win," Cuomo said. "You can overpower the extremists with intelligence and with reason and with common sense."

Evergreen, yours is a story which obama and his supporters will supress from national media.

I read recently that government was the single largest killer of civilians in the 20th century, deaths totaling over 290 million people. Just stop and think about that for a moment. Hitler was only a part of that! We had Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Idi Amin, etc....

In all of these cases, we see countries where the government was armed and the people were not. Closer to home, in the US it was a crime to sell guns to the Native Americans, and thus in most cases they were not able to adequately defend themselves.

A notable exception was the battle of the Little Bighorn, in which the Lakota, Northern Cheyenne, and Arapahoe tribes both outnumbered AND outgunned the 7th cavalry. However, this was not the norm, and most of the native peoples were disarmed, herded into reservations in squalid conditions, and forced onto government welfare. According to studies done at the University of Colorado, the total native population of our segment of North America declined from an estimated 12 million in 1500 A.D., to only 237,000 by 1900, a mere 2% of the population 400 years earlier.

WHY HAVE WE NOT LEARNED YET??????

I appreciate people's condolences. I'm hoping it is a great history lesson to all of us. What I REALLY DO NOT WANT, is what happened to my relatives in Belarus to happen to people here in the USA.

Indeed. NEVER AGAIN!

Jenny, I have been to Uganda as I was doing humanitarian work with orphans/widows infected with HIV/AIDS. I got to hear stories from many of the people who survived the Idi Amin regime. The stories the Ugandan people tell you about the atrocious crimes he committed are beyond comprehension. Let's just say if you were a pretty girl driving around, you risk being gang raped by heavily armed government soldiers and your family shot dead in front of you for resisting to give you up to them.

They say the Nile River in Jinja was so full of dead bodies, that the color of the river turned red with blood and there was a major crocodile infestation as a result.

When Professor Halbrook pointed out that Hitler used arms control laws to disarm the Jews before the Holocaust, Professor Harcourt claimed Halbrook lied and claimed that Hitler relaxed the previous German gun laws. Well, Hitler did make it easier for people approved by the Nazi party (good, loyal Aryans) to buy and own guns, but Nazi gun laws specifically targeted Jews. But that kinda proves Halbrook's point, doesn't it? By the way the New York Times 1933 reported that the Gestapo raided the home of Albert Einstein searching for weapons, prompting Einstein to abandon Germany and move to the United States permanently.

Bernard E. Harcourt, ''On Gun Registration, the NRA, Adolf Hitler, and Nazi Gun Laws: Exploding the Gun Culture Wars (A Call to Historians)'', 73 Fordham L. Rev. 653 (2004)

Stephen P. Halbrook, ''Nazism, the Second Amendment, and the NRA: A Reply to Professor Harcourt'', 11 Texas Rev L. & Pol 113 (2006)

To refute Halbrook, Harcourt's quoted and cited source on how lax Hitler's gun laws were was William Pierce, neoNazi author of The Turner Diaries. Anti-gun politics makes strange bedfellows.

J kramer - - - thank you for posting the link to "No Guns for Negroes". I knew that the early history of gun control in America included an attempt to keep black Americans from being able to defend themselves. But I hadnt seen the video before.

evergreen - thank you for telling us your family history.
Unfortunately, too often people think 'it can't happen here'. Well, it has already happened here. A total of 30 million American Indians and black slaves were killed in America before the 20th Century.

Every one of us should websearch the provisions in the National Defense Authorization Act which allow Americans to be imprisoned or even killed in our country through secret charges and secret military trials. (In the name of 'national security'). This violation of the US Constitution is rather chilling.

Kitty Werthmann lived under two totalitarian regimes - the Nazis and the Soviets. Here is her take on gun control:

I have the somewhat opposite story of Evergreen. My great grandmother was in the Netherlands when Hitler invaded. Somehow she armed herself and fought back in the Dutch Underground. I don't know the full story, but I do know she survived the war while many of my disarmed relative were killed in the gas chambers or during forced labor.

I will be keeping my guns, thank you. All of them. My son will be armed with them after I'm gone.

My neighbor who is still alive was in a camp when he was 4 years old. he's been in newspapers telling his story. But his story, like evergreens would fall on deaf ears with Cuomo & albany. They somehow cannot make the connection...

Not sure the exact wording of the quote but....you learn from history or you are doomed to repeat it

"Progress, far from consisting in change, depends on retentiveness. When change is absolute there remains no being to improve and no direction is set for possible improvement: and when experience is not retained, as among savages, infancy is perpetual. Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it. In the first stage of life the mind is frivolous and easily distracted; it misses progress by failing in consecutiveness and persistence. This is the condition of children and barbarians, in whom instinct has learned nothing from experience."

CHAPTER XII—FLUX AND CONSTANCY IN HUMAN NATURE
by GEORGE SANTAYANA

Many years ago when I took a course in college on the Holocaust I ran across a quote from a Jewish Berlin doctor from the 1930's when Hitler was on the rise. I have since not been able to find the quote, so I will paraphrase what the doctor said. When asked whether he feared for his own or his family's safety as Jews he responded that he lived in the most advanced, humane, and enlightened society in history and to even consider the possibility was absurd.

He and his entire family perished in the camps.

I am a Jew.

Never again.

Evergreen, I just wonder if our friends Bloomy and Schummy had any relatives such as yours and if so, they certainly have a poor memory, don't they. Heck, even if they didn't, they have a poor memory of history and their fellows.

Bloomberg is an utter disgrace. Many don't realize that in the era of Nazi Germany's "Final Solution" that there was actually Jewish people who were complying with government orders to rat out the locations of Jewish families to nazi officials. This group of self-hating Jews, known formerly as the "Judenratt", contribute a great deal of effort to Hitler's efforts of rounding up Jewish families and orchestrate the mass deportations to the Concentration Camps. He even gave special incentives and guarantees of rewards and freedom to these group of Jews for their deeds. However, little did they know, they would meet the same fate as the same Jewish people they helped incarcerate with their efforts. Hitler turned on the "Judenratt" and had all of them systematically execute in a short period of time.

Bloomberg, Feinstein and the rest of these power hungry, greedy , conniving , narcissistic politicians are what I would consider in the modern day world as "Judenratts". They are working to put the Jewish people back into bondage and put us at risk for a repeat to the suffering that we have suffered for thousands of years. America was the land where Jews finally experience freedom in this world. Sadly, fascists are working hard to end these freedoms.

Considering New York has the largest Jewish population outside of Israel, the laws that were enacted in New York will horribly affect many Jewish gun owners in this country. You would be surprised how many Jewish gun owners there are and how many conservative (politically and religiously) that reside in New York State.

This is a great tragedy. I just watched the entire No Guns For Jews video and sent the No Guns For Jews video linked to my rabbi and encouraged him to send it to other people. One person in my synagogue open/conceal carries and, along with myself, there are a couple others who CC. I am trying to help educate the people in my community about their rights and the need to support the 2nd Amendment and to protect and defend ourselves and the ones we love. As spoken on the video, without being vigilant and proactive we end up just being victims who plead.

This also hits home as of recent, as a terrorist named Naveen Haq walked into the Jewish Federation of Seattle in 2006 and shot 6 women, one who died. We really need to raise awareness and not repeat the mistakes of our past.

The extermination of my grandmother's entire village in Belarus was the worst, but not the only atrocity committed there. Before the nazis came, the village suffered several pogroms as well. One pogrom claimed the life of my aunt Gittel who was shot to death by drunk Polish villagers during the pogrom. She died in my great grandfather's arms in a pool of blood. I have my great grandfather's entire life story recorded in Yiddish (now translated to English) where he talks about his life in the village and coming to USA. Because the Jews were not allowed to have guns, they were completely defenseless against the Polish villagers who were heavily armed and would come and attack the shtetls (villages).

Once again, one reason why no people should ever be disarmed!

This seems a last stand for WASPs in America. Fienstein, Bloomberg, Ed Koch , Shumer all Jews leading the charge. Obama, Sharpton, Jackson still hating and blaming
white America for all their communities shortcomings. What a country we've become.

The truth is so much more informative and enlighting. It is people with their heads buried in the sand that are offensive, right GoWolf???

You can't defend the actions of one group by bringing up the sins of their victims.
