Put one of these on layaway at my LGS. It was the only 19 they had. How do you guys like them? Does anybody carry theirs? Feel free to share pictures.

I've bought two, a Gen3 and a Gen4 and like them both a great deal. It's a great carry piece if you prefer the 19's size.

Neither of mine are the compensated model as my choice is to have the blast and debris go down range with the bullet. But that's just me, I know several people who own "c" models in various calibers and are quite happy with them.

I love my 19. Great round count in a relatively compact frame - and its a Glock. Ugly, but as solid as it gets. Enjoy it!

I personally feel that the GLock 19 is the most reliable and best gun out there. Of course that was just my humble opinion. Enjoy your gun, master its feel, trigger and recoil and it will serve you well.

The 19C is a compensated model, right? I'm not a huge fan of compensators on SD guns. They seem to me to be more trouble than benefit. On the other hand, as hard as it is to find any Glock these days, if the only 19 I could find was a 19C, I probably would go ahead and buy it, too! ;)

I would rather not carry a compensated gun for defense. Most SD encounters occur in low-light, and having that large muzzle flash directed into your field of view can be quite detrimental.

That said, the Glock 19 is a fine gun. I own one, and it is in my carry rotation. Since changing the guide rod, mine has been very reliable and it has always been plenty accurate for defensive work.

Look at it this way, if you decide you don't like the compensated barrel you can always swap it out for a standard G19 or G17 barrel. It might be cheaper than trading in the whole pistol and it is certainly less hassle to have a barrel shipped to you.

I concur with the idea of just swapping for a standard barrel if you don't like the compensation. Sometimes the front sight will get covered in soot.

I can't say for certain on a 9mm compensated model, but the .40 G22 & G22C have very little flash and it's easy to pick up night sights right away during night shoots.
