Finally got it in! AAC Ti-Rant .45

This month will be the one year mark for me waiting on my AAC can.

New product roll-outs!! :banghead:

Mostly demand and lack of silencers with known serial numbers already in stock (esp. AACs) but also a rule change.

The BATFE is no longer allowing for the customer transfer to proceed as soon as the serial number is known--the silencer now needs to be in the dealer's hands. Also AAC is selling as fast as they are making them so the distributors cannot tell you the serial number early in the process. Most dealers won't have AACs in stock before you order either.

You need the dealer transfer approval, then the order, then they have to receive it before you can submit your Form 4. I was told 9 months with 4 months for my Form 4 and not I am thinking that 4 months will be 6 or 7 or longer due to the number of applications lately (after Dorner brought the NFA a lot of public attention).

That is exactly the process that I and my dealer followed for this AAC. I got it in just under 6 months. Dealer had it in stock, and away we went.

Six months is right in line with my estimate for the final customer Form 4. Unfortunately I could not find anyone in the Phoenix area with a Ti-Rant in stock. Many did not even bother returning my voice mails!

Nice. I'm trying to decide between the Ti-Rant 45 and the Osprey 45. And waiting on my little 22 forms to get approved. But I just submitted that, so I have a while to go.

I was just recently in your shoes and from all the reading and asking around i did my conclusion is that both are great. The Ti-Rant is serviceable, which has pros and cons, and the Osprey can be used with many standard sights. Most seem to indicate there is no real difference in sound except i have read that maybe first round shot suppression goes to the Ti-Rant. The Osprey does win on weight and length though being 11.1 ounces at 8.06" long with the Ti-Rant very close at 11.5 ounces and 8.74" long. My primary host is a Glock 21 and HK UMP and i really like the look of the Osprey on the UMP.

JustinJ, thanks for your thoughts. It might come down to which suppressor the dealer can get first if I can't find one in stock. They both seem to be at the top of the game. I do somewhat prefer the look of the Osprey since I'll probably put it on a Sig Scorpion 1911.

I hit the 1 year mark a month ago on my YHM 7.62 Phantom Ti. It will be 6 months next week since ATF cashed my check. The wait will be worth it.

Congrats! I'm sure the wait was worth it.
