5.5 Inch Ported Muzzle Brake for AK-47

I have a shorter ported muzzle brake on mine.....it's "ok". It does affect the slide-fire function....still works but takes more concentration so it must be affecting recoil somewhat. i don't perceive any difference in noise levels.

To be totally honest, the only reason I changed the muzzle brake from the OEM slanted type was so the rifle would fit in my safe better, i.e. it was too short with the OEM brake and leaned against other rifles and the new brake was free from a friend. The last time I fired it, I put the original brake on and switched it back when I put it back in the safe.

Thanks for the response. I'm thinking about converting a Draco to a rifle and this would give me enough length to avoid dealing with the SBR rules. I realize it will have to be pinned and welded. Under normal conditions I would sell it and buy a rifle, but the cost of those have recently gone out of sight.

I could be wrong, but I believe there is some regulation on turning a pistol into a rifle? Or was it turning a rifle into a pistol?

Lord. Getting old sucks.
