Now even .9mm ammo is selling out:

Cops, gun owners, feel pinch from ammo shortage

At High Bridge Arms on Mission Street, the only gun store in San Francisco, a box of .9mm ammo has a shelf life of about five minutes.

“It used to take us a month to sell 5,000 rounds,” general manager Steve Alcairo said of the most popular caliber. “Now, we go through that in a week — when we can get them.”

Late to the party....some 9mm is easing back into the market, but crazy priced.

I have seen plinking 9mm higher than .45ACP, 10mm, 357Sig, 357Mag, 44Mag, 38Special, .40S&W.....should I can continue? Who pays $40 for a box of 50 FMJ 9mm? Who does that??

I don't mind. I hand load. I use about 5 grains of w231. It pushes a 1.15 grain bullet about 10,000 fps. Any crosswind though and there is no telling where that thing is going.

I just tried to order some .9 mm 1.15gr lswc from MBC and they emailed me to say it was going to take 260 years before my order will be shipped!:what:

Y'all really are a very dense bunch...

Maybe yall have been breathing too much Hoppes fumes.

Wow that's 10 times as fast as mine go.

The .9mm cartridge is a close cousin of the .12 gauge shotgun shell.

Are you also using the 1.15 grain bullets or are you using the heavy weight 2 grain bullets in your .9mm (POINT 9mm) loads?

To get down to 1000 fps I have to use a 115 grain bullet in a 9mm.

Wow, you mean to tell me that your .9 only goes 10,000? If I turn mine sideways and thrust forward with each shot and use fused alloy bullets like on CSI: Miami, I can get mine to go 10,002. Now that's some knockdown power! I really like shooting those bullets out of my Glock 6 and a half (you know, the polyester ceramic automatic revolver with the super-deadly assault clips) and I be sure and watch every episode of "Criminal Minds" and "CSI:Miami" to learn how to shoot it better. Why, I learned on CSI that all guns have the same rifling...even on my .9!

It's such a pain to reload. You need a big bench magnifier and tweezers to handle the projectiles. The upside is that you polish the brass in lint, which is easy to get.

Just don't ever drop a box of projectiles or sneeze when reloading it. You'll never get them all picked up.

It's strange that they call it a .9 when the actual bullet diameter is .897527.

I think you mean .005 gr of w231. The case wont hold 5 grs.

The .9 is notoriously underpowered...which is why I stepped up to a .10

Well at least your great, great, great, great grandchildren will be able to have the ammo. I guess these days some things can't be rushed, like fine wine, good scotch...and 9mm ammo.
