Kind of like when one could buy one smoke at a time? Maybe it has something to do with ten round stripper clips? That's about all the speculation I'm good for at the moment. I'll leave it to wiser heads than mine.

Forward leaning marketing, anticipating the day when we overturn all this silly gun control and can buy ammo from a vending machine at the airport.

The quantity they are selling is only 900 rounds, not 1000. The blister packs fill the can to the top, creating the illusion that it is a full 1000.

Great more plastic packaging to blow out of somebody's truck and into my ditch...
Waxed paper would be a better choice, assuming they still feel the need to package them in bundles

Considering that the product comes from Australia, I would assume that it is packaged according to their market.

I suggest that since .223, till the last few weeks has been almost impossible to get, that you hurry up and buy it.

Or not.

Jeeze! What a bunch of whiners!

I would venture a guess five round blister packs eliminate waste and loose ammunition during training and combat exercises

I think they're the perfect amount for all those little Halloween trick-or-treaters when you run out of candy.

boo hoo, whaa whaa whaa...

There's not enough ammo. Hoarders. Resellers. High prices. I don't like the packaging...

I'll join in: I am sick to death of the M855 coming with brass that hasn't been polished to my exact liking. Add that to the 5 round packs and you have ammo I would never, ever use, ever in a million years, even when my life depended on it during the hurricane, zombie, revolution, end of days, ammo shortage apocalypse.

*Note* - this whole post before now is sarcasm. I think the 5 round packs are a waste of packaging, but obviously intended for a market with strict capacity limits, but shipped to the US due to the shortage of other ammo.

5 round packs of hunting ammo would be cool. I usually end up dumping 5 or so loose shells in my pocket when I hit the woods.

Are the packages "easy opening" like everything else these days that require a freaking bolt cutters to get open?

For the near future when buying a pack/box of ammo will still cost less than $20 .

I used to buy 7.62X39 that came in 20 round blister packs if I remember right. I'm too lazy to dig around and find some but I'm pretty sure it was 20.

East German blanks and plastic core 7.62x39 was in 10 round packs......I thought they would look neat on the plus sales racks at the grocery next to chapstick breath sprays.......

Some of the packettes had info on the back as to muzzle velocity and sight changes needed to use the plastic core on KD ranges

I bought several boxes of Aussie 7.62X51 NATO ammo about 10 years ago that was packaged the same way.
