Can you guys help me with pricing on the following ammo as a lot?
It's all 7.62x51

140 rounds South African in battle pack
60 rounds Austrialian (AFF 90) in 5 round blister packs
20 rounds (1box) Venezuelan (Cavim 86)
10 rounds (1/2 box) Malaysian (Pindad 86)

The 90 rounds are in a 30 cal ammo can, if that adds $5 or whatever.

Is $150 out of line?
Thanks,
RT

30cal Cans are $3.95 in stores here (but we are surplus central in the US). Not sure if your buying or selling? I would have guessed $120. The SA ammo is worth more, its more common and well thought of. The other rounds b/c of the types small quanity is really for plinking use. I think the battle packs are going for $89, other surplus can be bought for $.50/cent around, you should probably expect a little less $ from a mixed lot of it. I'm not sure why people are paying that. I get new Federal soft points for $12.47/20 at walmart, they shoot .41MOA out of my 700p and you get reloadable brass out of itstead of scrap surplus brass.

Okay, that's what I was thinking initially, but I saw the battle packs were a lot higher than I thought and I'm not up to speed on 7.62. I haven't had a 7.62 rifle in a couple of years, and my surplus ammo is the first thing to go in the housecleaning.

I'm selling BTW. I was going to offer it to club members first and don't want to skin anyone, but I need the cash so I don't want to sell it too low. I'll ask $120.
Thanks,
RT

BTW C5,
I don't think most 7.62 surplus is being shot in rifles capable of .41MOA. I think it's mostly used in rifles capable of a 20 round string of fire before the tactical reload.

Of course. But if you were looking to buy I was say to go with new production Federal from walmart, as its only a hair more expensive, is accurate and you get reloadable brass from it. I'm not sure why people are paying current market prices for the surplus, it probably has to do with walmarts being out of stock.

i bought a 440rd tuna can never opened of hungarian or romanian steel core for $100 bucks. $150 is a little high for your stuff

Good surplus is going for fifty cents a round right now, and that's no exaggeration. Sealed 140-rd battlepacks of South African are getting $100 frequently. And it's berdan primed...

$140-$150 is a fair price for that ammo considering what it is going for right now. Realistic, well, it's surplus and should be no more than 20 cents a piece however the market is in a tizzy right now, try to find .308 nowadays.

Yeah, I sold it for $120. That seemed fair and I didn't want to skin anybody. The guy I offered it to jumped at that price, so we were both happy. Thanks for all the help guys.
