Target sights for CZ SP-01?

I've been on the czcustom webpage to see if I can get competition type sights for my SP-01 [that was modified with competition hammer and SAO trigger] to replace the factory night sights they come with, . . . but it seems that all their offerings are for slides with different cuts [in the back, next to where the hammer is] than mine has.

I would LIKE to have the LPA set [out of stock, currently], but that would require extensive milling of my slide, . . . and would [no doubt] be costly. Should I just stick it out with the night sights or spend the money to get it set up like I actually want it?
 
Try TALKING with the Custom Shop before you go in any direction. Getting a dovetail changed isn't that big a deal, or necessarily that expensive -- but the custom shop can probably do what you need and may have access to things not shown on their site.

(If recutting a dovetail is needed, they might let you just send the slide in, rather than the whole gun -- and that means you can use the U.S. Mail [properly insured], and not have to ship the entire gun, which is very pricey!!)

I had a set of LPA adjustables on my 75B, they worked great, just don't try to use them with the CZ FO front sight. The rear notch is so shallow, you can only see half of the front FO in the front sight. It was aggravating to look at!! The rear sight was not the whole issue, as the front sight was drilled to low for the light pipe in my opinion.
 
As others have said, drop in sights are available for the SP-01. However, if you must modify something, modify the sight to fit the dovetail, not the dovetail to fit the sight.
 
So, . . . would the "LPA-F/R SET" set work on my SP-01? I think that would work well enough, if it will.

I like the idea of a fully adjustable rear sight, but if the other site [E-Z/D-9/40 - Front & rear sight set] would be a better choice, please explain why. If I am honest about it, . . . I doubt that, after getting an adjustable sight zeroed in, I would change it much, . . . so maybe the non-adjustable would be better.

BTW, thank you guys for the input and link. It would save me a bunch of money to not have my dovetail cut out [of course].

No problem. There are pro's and con's to fixed vs adjustable Tho I shoot a ton of different weight bullets and haven't needed a adjustable sight because I don't shoot at a far enough distance for it to matter.

Also don't know if you looked around CGW's site at all but that guy makes some great stuff just got his new disconnector in today and it's a thing of beauty.
 
The sp-01 has standard cuts. Why can't you use a sight set from cz custom or cajun gun works. I have a 75sa that has cz custom comp sights on it and they are great sights. They aren't adjustable but the sight picture is really good. For adjustables LPA has sets that have a good sight picture but they sit really high above the slide. They look kind of goofy but they work.
 
I will be getting the fixed sights from cajon gun works. Called in the order. Very nice guy and quite personable. Not a HUGE fan of the design, but I like the way the rear sight looks. Looking forward to trying them out when I get them on the pistol and out to the range. :)

Give us a report once you get them installed and take them for a test drive.

To restate my previous post, . . . I'm not a big fan of the design of the slide, but it looks like it has very nice serrations, so I am excited about getting these on my [even more so, then] target SP-01.
 
I can attest to the competition rear sight from CZcustom. I put one on a CZ75B in .40 with a fiber optic front and really enjoyed the sight picture before I sold it.
 
eerw, I already went with a front and rear sight from cajun. I had thought about having my slide milled for the LPA rear sight, but that probably woudl have been a costly thing to do. . . . . what with the milling, coating, and the price of the LPA sight with installation.

I went with cheaper route.
 
No worries. There lots of choices now for CZ fans. Better than say 7 or 8 years ago.

I have seen shooters pick a variety of sight combinations. Some that make sense, others that don't. I have what I like, what I hate , and know what works for me, may not work for you. But glad you found something that you like and fits your budget.
 
Well, as I said, my original plan was to have my slide fitted for the LPA. I like that look much more than what I got in [came in last night and looks nice]. I just know I would have spent quite a bit more than what I paid for this set [front and rear].

I'll post pics of it when I get them on.
 
There are drop-in Comp rear and FO/plain black front sights, also Dawson can sell you a plain or FO front reasonably made to your desired height.

The Competition rear is a great sight.
