Hey Gang,

A friend showed me a neat .22 rifle that he is trying to value. He bought it among a collection of coins and jewelry, and has had difficulty determining a value.

I will post some photos. I took the bolt out and snapped photos there. I didn't see any writing (English or other) and there was only one proof mark and a serial#. It has an adjustable rear sight (to 250 yds), a heavy barrel and is a single shot.

Any ideas?

Last Two & Note

Here are the last two.

A LGS told him they'd sell it for $250, and might offer him $175 for it.

Thanks 351! Are the identifying markings under the stock?

Any idea what it's worth? My friend will love the fact that it's Polish, which may mean he'll hold on to it!

Polish is most likely correct.. For sure a COMBLOC creation. Lot of it resembles are Russian TOZ cheap little Baikal I got years ago for 70 bucks. What is interesting is that in spite of relatively poor finishing work the Communist built rifle of the time could be very accurate.

It isn't Polish, at least not like the ones I have seen.
All of those rifles had finger grooves cut into the forend.
The Star marks tell me it is a postwar training rifle made at the Tula Arsenal in Russia.
