I love my H&K45. The only issue I have with it is that the grip fits my hand perfectly but it's too slick. I don't really want a sticky grip just not slick. Like a piece of suede not slick. Thanks

Those things are usually too thick. I've already tried both and both were too thick. Thanks.

Why not get a Hogue Handall Grip. It's cheaper than a roll of sticky tape. It cushions the back strap. It looks a lot better than something you jerry rigged. It even comes in different colors. Do not devalue your gun with sandpaper, by stippling it with a soldering iron or any of those stupid ideas. It is far better to just sell the gun and buy one you can hang on too.

break out the soldering iron or wood burning kit.. seems in vouge now-a-days.

Those [wrap-around grips] are usually too thick. I've already tried both and both were to thick.
Too thick meaning your hand did not wrap around comfortably anymore? Did you have the smaller back piece installed when you tried it?

When I first got my HK 45C, the size of the grip seemed perfect but I also did not like the slippery-ness of it. So, I got the Houge Handall and now I LOVE the feel. I do not notice any difference in the size of the grip (being larger or fatter), but boy do I like the way my hand sticks to it with even the lightest grab.

I did the same thing to my 1911 many years ago where I did not really like the wooden stocks that came with it, and replaced them with a Pachmayr grip.

I had to look one up to see exactly what it looked like, but it seems just like any other polymer pistol. If the rubber wrap bands like the Handall just don't feel right to you, you can certainly get it stippled (or do it yourself if you have no more than two thumbs and any skill with implements).

Here's what Bowie Tactical Concepts does:

Looks like they charge $100 for that. :) Probably $0.37 worth of electricity and $99.63 worth of having the nerves to do it. :D

It's a gun, not a china doll. If it doesn't do what you want, adjust it until it does.

I bought a kids bicycle tire for $1.99. I then cut and fit pieces to a number of handgun grips. It is fairly thin, rather durable, and adds (for me) just the right amount of texture. Give it a try- it should only cost you a few dollars to experiment. Good luck whichever way you end up going.

Go ahead and laugh, but I use hockey stick tape. One roll will last forever, so nearly free, and your hand will not slip, wet or dry, hot or cold.
Looks? Not so much:scrutiny:

Hockey tape is nearly as useful as duct tape.

I agree about it being decent for purchase on your grip, however when it gets hot it gets gooey and will leave sticky crap all over your hands. I the winter for something like a hunting gun, it works awesome.
