Love my new vepr, but the plastic is very slick- anybody know of a source for a thin, sticky back rubber tape or sheet that can be cut to fit and applied to the fore end? I've heard of using skateboard tape or the non skid flooring tape used on stairs but it seems TOO abrasive, like sandpaper. Somewhere, the product I want is available- but where? Ideally it would =have a texure like Hogue grips or similar.

I use skateboard tape and it works very well. It can be cut to any shape you want and stays on. Costs about $6 for a sheet big enough to cover a large skate board. It is a little rough when first put on, but its not bad and gets better with use. I use it on the front straps of my 1911's too, as well as a lot of other guns.

Kind of hard to see, but its on the grips and in strips on the forearms

Home Despot sells 3M Safety Walk tape in 1" and 2" rolls in the paint department. Or, perhaps, you're talking about this in sheet form (at the bottom of the list).

A-Grip is good but damned expensive. I think the uncut sheet is only like 5"x8" for over $20. It feels good on my Steyr M9, but it was quite expensive.
