If you have an Amazon account, you can go to http://smile.amazon.com/ and select the charity of your choice (including The NRA Foundation and NRA Civil Defense Fund) and Amazon will donate 0.5% of all your annual purchases to that organization!

This is a great way to support RKBA easily. The whole process took me less than 60 seconds.

I wish I was aware of this sooner. I do much shopping on Amazon. Got it covered from here on. Thanks for the heads up.

Cool and many thanks for sharing that information. My wife and Amazon are best friends. :) Especially with the approaching holiday season.

Thanks for letting me know!

I don't buy a lot from Amazon but now when I do I can "double dip" by signing up for this as well as using my NRA affinity "cash back" credit card to pay!

I got a confirmation from Amazon, how is Amazon Smile (http://smile.amazon.com) different from Amazon?

Do I need to do anything specific on my next Amazon buy for this to kick in? Pretty much all I buy from Amazon is books and parts to fix things around the house (igniter for the hot tub, etc.) after a Google search.

So which of the three NRA funds is the best choice?

The main NRA Fund, the NRA Civil Right Defense Fund (litigation oriented), or the NRA Freedom Action Foundation (voter education and registration oriented)?

I believe you must make your purchase from the smile.amazon.com website instead of amazon.com and contrary to my original statement, the 0.5% only applies to eligible items, not all purchases.

It all depends on what you want to support. As you described, the NRA Foundation supports the traditional mission of the NRA - firearms safety, competitions, ranges, instruction, etc. The NRA Civil Defense Fund supports everything from Supreme Court challenges like McDonald v. Chicago to helping local ranges fight nuisance ordinances via litigation. The NRA Freedom Action group supports voter education and registration; but is limited in what it can do (due to its tax-free status) compared to say the NRA-ILA.

Thank you. Amazon has been my #1 website for purchases since I started on the web in 1999. Never knew about this program. Will pass this good info on to family, friends and co- workers.

Done, and sent email to 10 people that would be down for the cause. I recommend everyone email everyone you know that this is available

Holidays are coming up, Buck Vantage Pro that I just ordered qualifies :)!

And then I have a reply from someone I thought was smart, saying the NRA kills children. He was dead serious. I can't believe it because he decided to cc everyone just to start an argument. I specifically stated in the email to give to another organization if you didn't want to donate to the NRA. This guy wants to buy a gun to! I told him he doesn't deserve to own a gun with his attitude.

I'm so pissed right now. He turned a great opportunity into his own personal forum for his politics. Next time I'll blind cc everyone I guess.

Awesome! I'm an Amazon Prime member, and last year I places 212 orders from Amazon.com! Even a half percent of my purchases should add up to a fair bit.

Thanks for pointing this out. I hadn't heard of it before.:)

If we could get all "gun people" to do this imagine how much it would add up to. I would think, in total, "we" probably spend a lot of money with amazon. I do a lot of my shopping with them. I nominate this thread as a sticky. All members here should do this.
