ar-15 extraction problem

I replaced the trigger on a PSA 300Blk with a Geissele 2stage. The rifle functioned fine previously, but now fails to extract every round. The bolt goes to the rear, but leaves the round in the chamber. It works properly if you use the charging handle however. I have replaced triggers in multiple ar-15's and have never had an issue.

The upper functions fine while using a different lower, and the lower functions correctly while using a different upper. I am at a lose as to what could cause this problem. Has anyone else experienced this, or have any idea of what could be causing this. Thanks in advance

I'm far, far, from being an AR expert. But I'm thinking if you replaced the hammer spring, and if it is of a different strength than the factory hammer spring, it could affect the speed at which the rifle cycles and cause your malfunction. But like I said, I'm no AR expert.

I'm skeptical that the new trigger is the source of your problem, but to rule it in or out I would reinstall the old trigger and see if the problem goes away. If it does, your issue likely was with the new trigger. If it doesn't, then something else is going on and there are a couple of ways to address poor extraction.

You sure there wasn't any other changes? Sounds like it could be a gas problem..

I took the o-ring off of an extractor from another bolt and installed it on the extractor. It seems to work fine now. I'm not sure why that problem didn't show up until we installed the new trigger, but I'll let you guys know if it starts failing to extract again. Thanks for the help.

I pretty much run a heavy duty Wolff spring and o-ring on every AR as a preventative measure.

The mid-length and rifle length gas system probably don't need them, but it doesn't harm them either.
