Does anybody here have one? I've been thinking lately that I might need a .30 cal lever gun host ready for when my Saker gets out of ATF purgatory. I'm sort of leaning towards a 336 due to cost, the ability to scope, and the fact that it seems like 30-30 would be easier to make subsonic ammo for than some of the larger .30 cal cartridges. The purpose of the gun will be mostly for range fun with some possible close range hunting, although now that I'm living out west, that seems like less of a likelihood.

I'd like to see pictures, and hear about any experiences my THR brethren might have with this kind of setup.

Suggestions on different lever hosts are also welcome.

This is on my wishlist. I've been looking into pistol calibers though like the .357 or 44 mag. That way you can use pistol cans.

Roosevelt's rifle looks almost exactly like what I'd like to do, except with a modern Marlin 336. One thing about Roosevelt's rifle is that it had a handy half length magazine tube which would not have needed modification to fit the suppressor.

Just looking at current 336's I wonder if there is enough space to thread them without bottoming out on the magazine tube... The modification would get a lot more expensive if the mag tube had to be shortened.

I would be very interested in a suppressed .44 mag lever gun shooting big 300 grain sub's, but as of right now I only have the .30 cal can on the way. As an aside, are there even any .45 suppressors that are rated for use on a .44 mag?

Most should handle a reduced pressure fine BUT I would double check with the manufacturer before buying and trying full pressure loads. I believe the Silencerco/SWR octane 45 could work.

The Octane 45 will work fine with .44 Mag subs. It will probably be fine also with full-power supers: It's rated for full-power 10mm out of a pistol, and full-power .44 mags out of a rifle will almost certainly put less wear on the silencer than that. But I recommend you call or email Silencerco to be sure.

I'm interested in a Martin 1984c later this year for my Octane 9 because Ohio is in the process of allowing suppressors for hunting. I've emailed silencerco and they replied that full power 357 mag loads are safe to shoot through it.

suppressed lever gun is something I have been keeping my eye on. I have been looking at the liberty mystic for mine. take apart, liberty says it's good for lower pressure lead reloaded 30/30 for sure, 357, 300 whisper, 223.

these are not my guns. They are collected pictures. I think I pulled them from ar15.com and marlinowners.

The marlin 1984c series were not in production for several months to a year because of quality control problems at Remington. I spoke to a rep at the NRA convention and he said they likely won't be available in any number until after this year. The likelyhood of finding one for this years deer season is slim he said.

There is a YouTube video of a guy with a suppressed lever-gun,,I'll see if I can find it again..................

I'm thinking about threading my 17hmr Henry and putting a can on it. Light, short and quiet - can't beat that.

I had seen that Mossberg before, but figured that being a top eject, it would be hard to mount a red dot, also, it's just so mind-blowingly ugly. That .45-70 setup is awesome, I probably just need to go ahead and order a .45 can, the options would open up a lot.
