Hi,

My dad and I have an NFA trust and I wanted to get him a suppressed weapon of some sort as a gift since he has expressed interest and it just became legal to hunt game with suppressors in our state. I would probably want to make it an SBR also to keep it handy.

He's not much of a tacticool type and currently just owns bolt guns in 8mm mannlicher, 30-06, .270, and .243 along with a 30-30 lever action Marlin and a Marlin 60 .22lr.

He mostly wants the gun to shoot at pigs and coyotes at ranges less than 200 yards, although he does hunt deer as well.

My first thought was a .300 blackout AR but on second thought I don't think he's much of an AR type (I'm usually the only one that ever cleans his guns, and I don't get over there all that often).

Is there anything that might work well for him in the calibers he has? He's not opposed to new calibers either.

Thanks!

Am I reading this right? Your looking for a gun to hunt medium sized animals with, you don't know what caliber or platform, other than being a suppressed SBR?

If it does not matter a single shot H&R in 308 with a integral suppressor would be a small compact package and it would cost less than a AR SBR/suppressor combo.

You can load .308 subsonic or supersonic depending on your application and how quiet your looking to go.

I use Thunderbeast. Their 30P threaded model works well for .243 through .300 Win Mag. They also have a 30BA model that mounts the suppressor over their muzzle brake.

I found them to perform very well, in suppression, as well as recoil.

Thread the muzzle on what you have (there has to be sufficient material for a proper shouder) ad enoy!
