Certainly, Pit4B, I understand. But I'm always available to offer help in providing you and your Son with a couple of very good spots. I used to live up in the Phoenix area back in the 70's, but I wouldn't have any idea now days where to find the flights.

Griff383, I usually go to the trap and skeet range prior first season to get some practice under my belt, or we go out in the desert close to home and use the clay pigeon launchers. But this year I didn't get the opportunity, been busy at the rifle range the last month and a half with a problem child 300 Win mag.. So it looks like I'll just have to sharpen my skills this year while wing shooting, it's all good. Something else I've done in past years is I'll grab one of my single shot 20 ga's., it really slows down in the ammo usage a lot, and it helps to sharpen my swing a bit quicker also, at least it seems so?

Captcurt, My problem is I'm 67, and I'm like a little kid waiting for Christmas, when it comes to opening day of Dove, I'm lucky if I sleep a couple hours. At my age I need all the sleep I can get. Too bad my buddy isn't the same way, I called him at 5:00AM. and he was still in bed, said he was going to hunt the evening hunt. Naturally I couldn't wait, so I went without him. When he called me I was already tuckered out, besides I already had my limit.

Also 15/24 isn't all that good even with a .410 as they are attempting to roost in a bare old tree, and most shots are 15-20 yards, just as they are locking their wings. Thanks any way for the complement. As the season wears on I'll switch to my BSS-20ga.

I went out and bagged 8 today after work. Had a nice thunderstorm blocking the sun for me while providing some nice cool outflows. Gonna hit em tomorrow again..

Taking my daughter's serious boyfriend this weekend as he wanted to drive 3+ hours to "have a talk" with me about his relationship with my little (23) girl. If this conversation is about what I think it's about, it will be just as well to have my shotgun along. :)

So we are dove hunting-he has shot lots of clays but never dove. I think the conversation will prove more interesting than the hunt, for once, but can't think of a better place or activity for such once in your lifetime man-talk.

Good on him, good on you. Sounds like a good lad already...

Without doubt, Pit4Brains... he and his family have proven themselves to be terrific. Even so, I'm up at the computer later than normal this evening; it's a little harder to sleep than usual.
