The pistol that James Bond should carry!

Traditionalist here Bond should carry a Walther. Just would not be right to change up now, The Kimber would be great for Derek Flint or Matt Helm.

I think of the Sean Connery type as fitting to the James Bond mantra. He should easily be able to conceal (in his dinner jacket) a custom 1911 Commander Stainless Les Baer in 10MM. Its time for the Bond character to do some serious damage to the newer bigger evil characters of today.

London Calling....

The Royal Army & MoD forces converted to the Glock gen 04 series model 17 9mmNATO recently.
The "Met" & "Special Branch" have used Glock 19s since the 1990s.
The SAS is very happy with the SIG Sauers in .45acp, 9x19mm & .40s&w.

Bond packed a Glock 19 9mm is a few 1990s era titles but he didn't keep the sidearm in later books with different authors.

IRCC his first gun was a .25 ACP, he was forced to carry the PPK even tho it was bulkier and heavier. His retort to the suggestion that a heavier caliber my extend his service to the Queen, was that the .25 had never failed him.
Hey he's James Bond, one shot one kill!

I realize Bond is a fictional character, but it's still fun to speculate on what Q Branch would issue. Based on Bond's need for concealment, reliability, power and panache, I think the Kimber Solo DC satisfies all the requirements. I'm a PPK fan, and I own one, but the Solo is superior. Thoughts?
I am a huge James Bond fan. I recall an interview which stated that a consultant had advised that James Bond would carry a revolver for reliability. However, that wasn't cool enough so the PPK was selected.

Bond would carry what ever deep concealable gun won the current contract from Q branch. After all, Q branch is a government agency.

Service sized pistols would be too large for an operator like Bond.

460Kodiak had it right at the beginning of this thread. Bond is smooth, unique and deadly. Of course he would be carrying a gun to match: H&K P7.

007 Pistol Carry

James (or rather, Mr. Bond) should carry a Rohrbaugh R9.
Small, concealable, powerful, and deadly.
It would be named "The Asp".

The villain should use a current Remington R51.
Problems, problems, and more problems.
It would be named "The Buttocks".:neener:

Too large, a PM9 or a CCP, that's about the size they like for guys who wear tuxedo's. Maybe even an XDS bi- tone. It has to have some stainless on it. Bond can't have a black or blued pistol.

Remington R51.....espically since guns in movies do not actually shoot bullets

lol! Yes the CCP looks like the hi point, but I agree, that is what Bond should carry. I always though the HK P7 would be a great Bond pistol, but yes, the Walther fits the mold. It is a fictional character after all.

Glad Umarex/Walther didn't name it the CCCP. :)

John Gardner; P7 9x19mm .....

In the 1980s Bond novels, 007 toted a Heckler & Koch P7 9mm. He knew how to use it. ;)

This was prior to the ASP(S&W model 39-2).

The gun must be small but no tiny, have 8-10 rounds, be lightweight and have a distinct look with some stainless as the PPK, and most other guns he used. It needs to reload quickly since we are no longer in Connery's day. And Q could easily suppress it internally, and install a 3 shot burst with extended mag.
Also a Veridian with strobe would go nicely, and sell a lot of guns and lasers. Don't forget the ammo that they could invent for it.
Walther would capitalize on it easily and make it the most popular little gun.
Piolet and I see it as plain as day, a 1911 is out because of size capacity and weight. Most poly guns are too thick or small.

James Bond Carry

As the years have gone by, no doubt he would no longer be 007.
Most likely he has worked his way up (or is it down) the ladder to at least 002.
He will indeed be carrying something larger than a PPK, possibly a Barrett Rifle, in a cleverly designed and hidden shoulder rig.

Now, that I'd like to see !:D

I always seemed to me (at least during all those cold war years) that the reasonable gun for him to use would be a Makarov. Nowadays, I think he needs a 9mm. Bond seems to be a traditionalist in his tastes so I just cant see him toting around anything polymer. My vote goes to a Sig P239.
