I'm trying to make some 1911 mag pouches work for Ruger MKIII mags and am going to glue some leather spacers in. What adhesive would work best?

This will definitely not be sewn. For this application it seems to be not an ideal choice.

I used this to attached a zippered leather pouch onto my Ipad cover. The pouch is for the head phones and stylus. I smeared the glue (looks and feels like Elmer's glue) to both surfaces, let it dry a little, then put them together with some books on top for some pressure. I let it sit for two days. The pouch adhered fine except I see I'll need to be careful with it. It's not super strong and will pull apart with use I'm sure. I'll probably reinforce it with some staples if I can figure out how.

Regardless of what glue you use, you need to sew the spacers in too. Rubber cement will do. The glue really just holds the spacers in place while you sew.
Whole lot less fuss to make mag pouches specifically for your Ruger mags. Rocket science it ain't.

If you saw the thick plastic and the area I'm trying to get to you wouldn't ask. :)

Went with gorilla glue epoxy... seems to have worked okay.
