Hi folks... if you could only use one ejector for both a glock 27 stock 40 cal barrel and the 9mm lone wolf conversion, which would it be? Is one safer or more reliable?

One would have to assume the stock .40 ejector would be more reliable with a stock .40 Glock.

(Glock Perfection and all that)

I would not expect a 9mm conversion barrel to be as reliable.

If you want a 100% reliable 9mm Glock, buy one.

They make two different model guns for probably a pretty good reason.

Fair enough... but which ejector is going to be most reliable with both cartridges?

What caliber does it say on the slide?

Ahhhh!
It says .40 S&W!

If you want it reliable in .40 leave the ejector alone.
It will probably work fine with 9mm, but the reverse may not be true if you put a 9mm ejector in it and shoot .40.

10mm/45 has nothing to do with anything.

I've got a fair number of rounds through a stock Gen4 G22 with a EFK 9mm barrel, and it's never given an issue with ejection (or anything else).

Never had an issue with ejection of 9mm when using a 9mm barrel in a 40 slide, but it would take you just about 1 minute longer to swap trigger housing assemblies while you were swapping barrels or barrel/slide assemblies.
As noted, not recommended for carry when using the 9mm barrel in 40 slide. The additional breach face width can leave too much room for the case head to move around as the slide is cycling to the rear. More of an enhance potential for trouble than one that has actually been seen much, but it is a real possibility. Better to use a complete top half than to mix parts.

For the record , I have both ejectors (9mm- #336 and 40 - #1882 )on my third generation G 27. If you have 1000 rounds of both 40 and 9mm, which of the two ejectors is going to feed that both types ammo most reliably? I know the 40 is going to be more inherently reliable in a pistol chambered for that round.

The reason I ask is that I've heard a few sketchy reports of broken primers using a 9mm ejector with 40 ammo. Also I've heard other comments that the only difference is the 40 ejector sends the brass flying in a different direction than the 9 ejector.

Well, then you should know much more about which one works and what they do then us.

So, Why are you asking us?

Because I bought the g27 from a fella who had converted it to a 9mm barrel with a 9mm ejector. It's run a few hundred rounds of 9mm with no jams. Niether of us yet has fired a 40 through it. I'm more than just a data point, RC. :p

I've got a Glock 22 with a 9mm threaded LW conversion barrel. Its ran a lot more 9mm suppressed that it has 40.S&W with no failures. I changed only the barrel and magazines.

But if you want "maximum" reliability in a 9mm buy a 9mm pistol!
