Does anyone here have this setup? The Glock 27 (the small 40 caliber 9 shot capacity pistol) and the Storm Lake 9mm conversion barrel?

I'm considering the purchase of the Glock, but I can't decide between the Glock 26, which is 9mm only, and the 27, the 40. I know I will have more ammo versatility with the 40, but how is the reliability factor with the conversion barrel with this model?

(If I shoot 9mm in the 27, with the conversion barrel, can I expect a host of malfunctions?)

Only speaking from the research I've done in the past when I was considering the same thing, not personal experience: if you get the 27 and 9mm conversion barrel you should expect a fairly smooth ride. The 40 extractor should handle the 9 with little to no issues. I'd get a new Wolff recoil spring too. Going in the other direction (9 to 40) is less feasible as you'd also need to swap out the extractor. I ended up going with the g26 because I didn't have anything in 40 at the time anyway.

I've had and used that same setup and it worked perfectly. YOu do need the 9mm mags for the smaller round. I also had a .357Sig barrel which also worked great. 3 calibers with 1 gun. The .357Sig uses the .40S&W mags so no new mags needed for that. It's a sweet combo that gives you a lot of versatility.

I use KKM/Lone Wolf 40-9 conversion barrels in my G22/G23/G27 and do not have issues other than I need to use 9mm magazines for G22/G23 to feed rounds reliably from the magazine.

With G27 and LW conversion barrel, factory G27 magazines and 9mm G17 magazines have worked well feeding 9mm rounds.

If you are shooting factory 9mm ammunition, no.
