Why would they be calling me? I haven't ordered anything from them lately.

Well, turns out the steel frame Pocket Remington I ordered in August of 2013 is finally coming in "sometime this month." They're honoring the then-price too; it's up $15 now... I'm excited.

Any tips on the Pocket Remington? I read somewhere on here that the loading level is a weak point...

Also that the chambers are grossly undersized.

I've always really liked it though. Wish they made the .36 cal Police model though...

I have a brass frame one and really like it. I run it with 10 grains 3F 777 powder, .319 balls seem best. I've used .315s and as I recall they stay put but I'm not sure they're really shaving a ring or anything. I don't use wads, there's no space for them. I load off the gun - the loading lever definitely looks more like emergency use only.

It hits kind of absurdly high. I usually shoot it at 7 yards and I put on an aim point that's around 9 inches below what I'm trying to hit. Yeah. But given that aim point I can shoot a decent group with it - couple of inches maybe?

Just for comparison with my .31 pocket Colt I use 2 more grains of powder and go up a ball size. .319 barely works and .323's a lot better. Hits about 4" high at 7 yards. The gun is a LOT bigger - the Remington is TINY.

I acquired a steel frame one in a package deal that I've never gotten around to firing. It is so small that I agree, that lever seems more like for show and/or emergency use.

I picked one up in a trade that came with a conversion cylinder. Both in pristine condition just this past November. Have not tried the bp cylinder as yet as the weather has been too cold for these old bones and bp is verboten on the indoor range. Am in Florida now so will be able to get some range time with it soon. As for the conversion cylinder in 32S&W searching the internet has not produced any in the original "short" loading. Some " long" and plenty of "auto". Only balls I could find locally was .315 and pushing one through the bore produced only a light ingraving of land and grooves, so not being overly optimistic on accuracy with that diameter.. But it is a pretty little piece of Italian craftsmanship..

One of the only places to get properly sized balls for them is Track of the Wolf, or mold your own with Lee or Lyman molds.

Always wanted a steel one, but never seem to be ready to buy one when it shows up for sale!

Also that the chambers are grossly undersized.

Do you mean that the chamber diameter vs. the barrel diameter, or the chamber's capacity?

My daughters favorite is my brass spur trigger Remingon.

We use single aught buck and load off the gun with a wood mallet and short starter. I just search through the singles boxes of greasy old shot shell at shops and shows and occasionally when I in a hurry pick u a box of new made single aught buck.

I do not trust that flimsy loading lever set up.

On the advise of Busyhands 94 (anyone heard from him since he went off to see the world?) I bought a repro brass mold like for the original Colt .31 that makes a conical and one ball, but have not been brave enough to fire up the lead pot this year.

I am considering putting together a off the gun loader from washers and a bolt and nut and using a wrench and speed wrench for tightening things down. That is such a small cylinder pin hole I am concerned however.

I have had a nickle plated one for 15 or so years. The cylinder chambers were opened up to 21/64" (.321) and we use 00 buckshot .330. Loads easy, and the ball engraves the rifling, significantly improving the accuracy.

Reference post 6.

Well this little gun is a dud. Ignition is spotty, accuracy is abysmal at 12 yards. Three out of five shots won't fire after trying several different caps, caps show signs of being struck, but when removed a neat circle of primer mixture is in the cone, what's up with that. Weak spring, short cones, short hammer face ?????, where does one start. There is no movement back and forth of the cylinder at 1/2 or full cock.

After a frustrating start with that piece and a Rogers and Spenser put them both away and turned to the ROA for a morning of trouble free and accurate confidence building shooting. Thanks Bill Ruger.

Gun is all factory. After playing around with the nipples ,backing them out as far as the recoil shield allows, and still erratic ignition, am leaning towards a weak spring. How does one increase spring tension.
