Clown Nose non-lethal projectile

It appears to render the first shot "less-than-lethal".

1. This may not be enough when your life is in danger.
2. Who fires one shot when your life is in danger? It is almost impossible to actually see hits outside of a Hollywood movie and a shooter has no idea if he is hitting or missing (completely aside from the question of whether the hit is incapacitating--not usually the case).
3. Remember the cop in CA who thought he grabbed his Tazer when he grabbed his gun and killed a bum? This design is blending lethal and less-than-lethal functions into one weapon making the differences between the two much less distinct from both a training situation and a real-life use situation under stressful conditions.

Something _like_ this may have some use as a separate device but when it renders the lethal arm less than lethal (sometimes) and blends the two functions into one object it endangers both the officer and the public.

Knife as a threat....

Not to pile on, but I also take issue with the company's digital animation demo video.
In the end when the "cop" adds the device to his duty pistol then chooses to fire a target(threat) with a knife. :uhoh:

I'm not going to stand directly in front of a violent subject with a knife, sword, broken bottle, etc then use a non lethal weapon like a Taser, bean bag round, OC spray or ASP/PR24. :uhoh:

To think this new weapon could be used like this is not prudent.

I cannot see any accredited law enforcement agency ever adopting this device.

In today's litigious culture, no department will want to change its policy on use of less lethal impact munitions -- which is to say, every agency that I know of maintains strict separation of firearms from less lethal devices. The two shall never mix. Regular patrol shotguns aren't used anymore with less lethal munitions - specialty shotguns (with orange or neon green stocks/foreends) are the norm. Great care should be taken to differentiate less lethal launching platforms from firearms, so I just can't see a department adopting this crap.

I thought this thing was an early April Fool's joke ...

Isn't most training to fire (double tap) at center body mass? I was trained that way.

I think it would be good for aggressive dogs while walking

shooting it with 45acp might PO it too. what's your point? that a less than lethal round won't solve every possible problem?

O.K.!
I just got a better idea!
(And I'm filing a patent on it as we speak.)

We issue each police officer a bag full of baseballs in a butt pack.
And teach each one to throw 95MPH Major League bean-balls while under attack!

Yea!
I'm gonna make millions as soon as I get a slick video production out.

:scrutiny:
That's NOT going to work. Do you know how many people get workman's comp from carpel tunnel? Pitchers elbow will become the new carpel tunnel. There won't be a single cop left on patrol, they will all be on disability retirement.

Given that woman who caught a Pepper ball in the eye and it killed her, a metal ball is going to do the same thing to someone. Also, watch for the officer with the ball stuck half way through his hand during a ND when putting it on the end of the muzzle.
