I love extreme accuracy, and high quality fire arms. A nice matt stainless barrel and action on a slick weather resistant fiberglass or synthetic stock gets me excited about sneaking through the woods looking for that big trophy bull elk or deer. Sleek shiny deep blued steel bedded into a polished burly walnut stock makes me dreamy eyed. I even have some love for the more accurate versions of semi auto "defensive" style rifles, when it comes to high quality metallurgy and precise machining and fitting I love em all.
I am always thinking about it and wondering what rifles (or even handguns) do it the best. I will see a random nice looking rifle and begin to imagine what the bolt feels like opening and closing, how smooth is it, how smooth and crisp is the trigger, how light is the trigger, what does it feel like to shoulder it and fire it...?
People tend to speak highly and frequently of CZ, Tikka, Weatherby, Sako ect...when threads come up about which accurate out of the box rifle to get, Savage and Howa get mentioned a lot too as budget options.
So what is your super accurate special rifle(s)? which ones just blow the rest out of the water and leave you with a smile after seeing that one ragged hole group? Pictures of guns, and subsequent targets and/or game taken by them along with stories are encouraged
here is my most accurate set up;
T/C Encore with a Bergera barrel chambered in 222 Remington by Mike Bellm.
I couldn't believe how perfectly accurate it is. The first time I took it out to sight it in, 2 rounds fired and it was dead on. First load I tried, and it put them EXACTLY where it was supposed to. I had fun the rest of the afternoon/evening picking off the caps of soda bottles, hitting shotgun shells and what ever else I could find small enough to be a challenge, and hit them all. It really deserves a better scope, but this old Redfield holds zero so for now it stays.
