I love extreme accuracy, and high quality fire arms. A nice matt stainless barrel and action on a slick weather resistant fiberglass or synthetic stock gets me excited about sneaking through the woods looking for that big trophy bull elk or deer. Sleek shiny deep blued steel bedded into a polished burly walnut stock makes me dreamy eyed. I even have some love for the more accurate versions of semi auto "defensive" style rifles, when it comes to high quality metallurgy and precise machining and fitting I love em all.

I am always thinking about it and wondering what rifles (or even handguns) do it the best. I will see a random nice looking rifle and begin to imagine what the bolt feels like opening and closing, how smooth is it, how smooth and crisp is the trigger, how light is the trigger, what does it feel like to shoulder it and fire it...?

People tend to speak highly and frequently of CZ, Tikka, Weatherby, Sako ect...when threads come up about which accurate out of the box rifle to get, Savage and Howa get mentioned a lot too as budget options.

So what is your super accurate special rifle(s)? which ones just blow the rest out of the water and leave you with a smile after seeing that one ragged hole group? Pictures of guns, and subsequent targets and/or game taken by them along with stories are encouraged:)

here is my most accurate set up;
T/C Encore with a Bergera barrel chambered in 222 Remington by Mike Bellm.
I couldn't believe how perfectly accurate it is. The first time I took it out to sight it in, 2 rounds fired and it was dead on. First load I tried, and it put them EXACTLY where it was supposed to. I had fun the rest of the afternoon/evening picking off the caps of soda bottles, hitting shotgun shells and what ever else I could find small enough to be a challenge, and hit them all. It really deserves a better scope, but this old Redfield holds zero so for now it stays.

Here's mine. It's a right-bolt, left port Savage target action, glass-bedded and free-floated in a pillared BR stock, with Pac-Nor barrels, a rifle-basix trigger, and Weaver target scope. It is my dedicated 6mm BR Norma rifle.

Not going to believe it....the El Cheapo of the bunch. I have had a lot of good rifles, a lot of dandy shooters, but nothing has really threatened to knock my rem 700 in .270 win. With factory loads it will consistently hit 1" at 100yds. With handloads I have done as well as 1" at 300 and 3" at 600 (mostly vertical spread). 130 gr bullets are the key for me, and one does as well as another. It likes that weight. I apparently got a good scope too for $79 when I bought the rifle in 1999, Tasco World Class. I keep hearing that this combo won't shoot, but it's brought home dinner out to 600 and paid for itself in friendly wagers.

Only 3 but it will constantly run them 1/4"

I've built all my own rifles. I like my savages just as well and am still working on my 6-06. It shoots better at 300yards than it does at 100

Here's my best rifle. It's a Savage but I don't know if it qualifies as a "budget" rifle since the going rate for a new model is over $1200. It isn't in the range of a Sako in price but it's more than a Howa. It's a .223 12 LRPV with the target action BTW.

Mostly I shoot at 500 yards with this rifle. I've shot one group that was less than an inch at that distance with 5 rounds being in the bull of a Shoot N See target. Unfortunately I rarely took photos of those targets because it was a big hassle to shut down the range to get out that far to check out a target. Usually I just shot at stuff that was already out there like broken clays etc.. I have shot some sub .5" groups at 100 yards with it. I have added a much better scope since I took this photo BTW. It now sports a Weaver T-36. I guess it's time to take some new photos. Maybe I'll post those tomorrow. This rifle is almost boring it's so accurate at 300 yards. It just doesn't miss unless I mess up and I have to mess up pretty bad. At 500 yards I have to think about the wind and the drop and whatever else. But at 300 yards there isn't much of anything that keeps it from hitting right on target.

I don't have any photos of the 100 yard groups I've shot with that rifle but I do have this photo of a group I shot with my Savage 110 in 30.06. Now that's a budget rifle. This group measured .5" BTW. It's 5 shots. FWIW the 12 shoots way better than the 110.

Even a big old round piece of lead can tear a ragged hole, even without a scope! 62 caliber bench rifle at 100yrds

Sako 85 260 is one of the most accurate rifles I've ever shot. It shoots everything I've fed it well but loves 120gr TTSX's. The 1st time i ever took it hunting, I shot a very nice FL buck at 200yds.

Browning X-Bolt in .308 topped by a Luepold VX-2 3X9-40. Twelve rounds in 0.82" at a 100 off a front bag. 150gr Sierra Pro Hunter with a fat dose of Varget. Did it once, don't know if I could again but the rifle is a consistent sub MOA gun.

AR57, a 50 yd cheater, 6" barrel

OK, I'll sneak this one in, 50 yards but, it's a humble AR57 (5.7x28) 6" SBR, suppressed. I cannot for the life of me figure out why this one is so accurate, I daresay it outshines it's 16" rifle cousin. I've learned to just go with the flow and enjoy :)

I was wondering if anyone would mention a Browning or not. I have read a bunch of comments about their less than stellar accuracy in the past, its a large part of the reason I have never purchased one. Glad to hear yours can shoot Burrhead!

Keep em coming, I hope you all are enjoying this as much as I do.

Not quite 1 hole, but not bad at 200 yards. Winchester 70, 300 WSM

My Remington 308. .5moa or better out to 500yards with 175SMK or 178 AMAX. Clover leafs at 100yards. The 223 holes are me trying to shoot 500yards with iron sights on a Ar15. That was 5 rounds only 3 hit those targets.
